ISPO BIKE 2013 as the platform for E-Mobility and Urban Biking

In 2013, ISPO BIKE once again emphasizes its claim as the information platform for the sector of urban mobility with an exclusive side event program. The highlight is the ISPO Innovation Forum on July 26th – featuring an exciting combination of presentations and workshops under the motto "Urban Biking – Global Networks".

If you consider the current statistics in Munich it quickly becomes clear that the importance of urban mobility continues increase. In the next few weeks the number of bikeways is slated to increase from 22 to 47. The existing network of bicycle paths with a total of 1,200 kilometers will likewise be extended with the help of expansion and improvement measures. ISPO BIKE also covers this subject. At the 7th ISPO Innovation Forum experts and visitors will jointly discuss the future of cycling in the urban environment and the areas of development for the bicycle industry. Mikael Colville-Andersen of Copenhagenize Consulting will hold this year's keynote address, with the title "Bicycle Culture by Design".

The following speakers will also hold motivating presentations:

LasseSchelde, Manager Bicycle Innovation Lab
Randy Neufeld, Leiter SRAM Cycling Fund
Thomas Schröder, Manager Marketing & Communication m-way
Burkhard Stork, ADFC Federal Chief Executive

ISPO BIKE offers variety: mobility has been undergoing change due to the increasing traffic volume in metropolitan cities – even in the cargo and transport sector. CargoVille is a new area where visitors will be able to gain information on cargo bikes that are the perfect alternative to car transport in an urban environment. They are versatile, can be used as a family vehicle, for grocery shopping or even on a commercial basis. Cargo bikes are slowly coming out of their niche and are establishing themselves as independent vehicles for personal and commercial transportation. The exhibition Bike Apps – Digital Cycling Support introduces digital apps for every day use. Whether on a smartphone or GPS, bicyclists are now able to find the best possible route, set up personalized exercise programs or communicate with friends. The special exhibition Created for Cyclistspresents the latest bike wear trends. At first glance, you will not be able to identify these fashion products as classic bike wear; on the contrary, they are trendy everyday garments that are suitable for daily bike rides. The Central Park by Melon and Friends area invites visitors to become inspired by exceptional exhibit areas and booth concepts, or set up business meetings.

The second focus of ISPO BIKE is on E-Mobility. ISPO BIKE, held from July 25th to 28th, 2013 at the Messe München exhibit center, offers more than just the wide-ranging spectrum of the bicycle industry; the trade show also includes an interesting side event program with conferences, workshops, special exhibits, test track and the new e-bike/pedelec race "Pedals of Power".
