Powtech 2013: Something for every particle size

Whatever mineral source materials are used for, the decisive factors for the quality of the manufactured products include sophisticated screening equipment and particle analysis tailored to the respective requirements. Powtech in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 23–25 April 2013 once again offers what is probably the most extensive overview of the latest equipment for handling powders, granules and bulk solids. More than 700 exhibitors from 26 countries are expected at the leading European exhibition for mechanical processing technologies. They offer the broadest range of technology in the world for mixing, size reduction, screening, conveying and analysing for achieving economic plant operation in the building material, recycling, pit, quarrying, coal and ore industries.

Overview of screening and fractionation
Here technology leaders like Allgaier, Minox and Russel show the latest screening trends for extended lifetimes, optimized particle spectrums and higher throughputs with reduced energy consumption. For products that are difficult to screen, like those with different moisture contents particularly found in the source material industry, Powtech also shows all modern screen-supporting technologies, such as ultrasonic, vacuum, air or the combination of ultrasonic and air. So Powtech offers a unique survey of current improvements and trends in fractionating and screening machines.

Analysing particles with the world market leaders
The around 60 companies at Powtech that show systems for particle analysis and particle characterization, including technology leaders like Malvern and Sympatec, come from ten countries in Europe, Asia and America and thus represent the entire globally available know-how on these highly demanding and mostly mechanical, optical and chemical analysis processes. From chemical identification, determination of molecule size, molecular weight, particle shape and size to rheological properties or determination of zeta potential, the exhibitors at Powtech show the most modern systems for determining all these parameters.

From sack and big bag to silo transport
But Powtech also provides an extensive survey of current developments in filling, packing and bag filling, and for logistics and emptying transport containers for bulk solids. This technology is excellently represented at Powtech by approx. 100 exhibitors, who show a varied range of equipment for tasks such as handling big bags. This means Powtech is also a fascinating and varied forum for the whole field of bulk solids logistics and handling.

Powtech has a long tradition. As leading technology forum for mechanical processing technologies, the exhibition has enjoyed an outstanding reputation among visitors and exhibitors for more than 20 years. Because this is the only event where mechanical processing technologies can also be seen with processes from size reduction, milling, mixing, filtering, agglomeration, dosing and weighing to plant engineering.
