China’s No. 1 electric power exhibition ended with success

The largest electric power and electrical exhibition in China - EP China / EP Electrical 2012 ended with a success at China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, China on September 28, 2012. The three-day fair scaled up to 8 exhibition halls, participated by 800 renowned exhibitors and over 24,000 professional trade visitors from 52 countries / regions.

The 14th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology (EP China 2012) and The 7th International Exhibition on Electrical Equipment (Electrical China 2012), organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. is tailored for visitors from power grid and power group corporations, power plant, power supply bureau, R&D institutes and construction engineering companies, etc. to source and keep abreast of technology advance and market update, serving as a one-stop technology showcase and business intelligence platform.

New Comers from Diversified Industry Users
800 premium exhibitors showcased diversified solutions with advanced, high-efficiency and energy-saving technologies. Overseas pavilions included Germany, USA (US Embassy – Commercial Service), Taiwan (Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association) and Russia (Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation) with 10 Russian renowned power suppliers.

There were 13 delegations from Chinese and overseas trade associations and corporations. In addition to the delegates from power grid and power group corporations such as State Grid Electric Power Research Institute and China Electric Power Research Institute, the fair was well-attended by groups of delegates from coal, metallurgical, railway industries. It is worth mentioning that the Vice President of Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation led more than 60 delegates to EP China and attended the Sino-Russian Corporation Forum.

EP China / Electrical China 2012 is recognized by the positive sentiments from visitors and exhibitors in the aspect of show scale, exhibit quality and visitor profiles.

Concurrent Events Enriched Visitors with Innovations
Industry specialists, experts and government officials shared their insights in a series of seminars and symposia. For instance, "2012 Smart Grid Conference" was well-attended by leaders from China Electricity Council (CEC), the State Electricity Regulatory Commission and the State Grid Corporation as well as Mr. Jochen Kreusel of ABB Senior Vice president, Head of Smart Grid Program, General Manager of ALSTOM etc. who gave speeches covering the hottest issues in smart grid applications' strategy and planning, smart grid standards, smart grid technology and R & D, promotion of smart grid in related industries and smart grid pilot project status. It was well-attended by over 200 representatives from power supply bureau, suppliers and design institutes.

Highlight of EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2013 - "Smart Grid Zone"
According to a research report on electric power industry from "12th Five-year Plan" (2011-2015) released by China Electricity Council, investment in power industry in China in 2011-2012 will reach 6.1 trillion in which 3.2 trillion in electric power development and 2.9 trillion in power grid construction. These policies facilitate the development of smart grid construction in China in which new technology is of the utmost importance in view of the country's construction of ultra-high voltage smart grid as a framework and then connecting power dispatching system at different level with high-tech, automated and interactive features.

The next edition, EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2013 further elaborates the ideas on "Smart Grid‧Energy Saving‧New Opportunities" to be held from October 30 – November 1, 2013 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, Shanghai, China. To cater the high demand for smart grid technology and new equipment, "Smart Grid Zone" will be set in 2013 edition which is expected to boost EP show's record as one of the Leading Electric Power Exhibition in Asia again.
