Paperworld gives visitors the chance to increase their knowledge by holding an interesting and varied complementary programme. In addition to special exhibitions and trend presentations, experts from the sector communicate their expertise at the Paperworld Forum. The lecture area is where expert lectures will be given and awards presented. After each 30-minute lecture, there will be sufficient time for exchanging ideas and information with colleagues and, of course, for asking questions or holding discussions with the speakers.

Paperworld Forum (3.0 D40)
The 7th Paperworld Forum will attract visitors with a spectrum of interesting expert lectures and has developed into one of the foremost places to go to find out about the latest products and exchange information. Held on all days of the fair, the wide-ranging programme of lectures covers subjects such as marketing, trends, motivation, the retail trade and sales. For the benefit of international visitors, all lectures will be translated simultaneously into English. Additionally, the area will be used for awards ceremonies.

The Saturday of the fair opens with a new highlight, the Assistant's Day for secretaries and personal assistants. Organised in cooperation with 'working@office' trade magazine, the morning will focus on challenges and new ideas in everyday office life, as well as how to make a positive impression and negotiate with confidence. Registration is required for this event.

The Saturday afternoon begins with the presentation of the Insider Award. This will be followed by a lecture on making a self-assured impression and the presentation of the Product of the Year Award for 2013.

The Sunday begins with a genuine agent who will spill the beans and talk about one of his secret weapons – trust. Subsequently, answers will be supplied to the question of how customers can be attracted into shops by mobile phone. Also planned are lectures on selling and the future of the paper, office supplies and stationery trade before the day ends with the presentation of the ISPA Award. The Sunday's lectures are being organised in cooperation with 'office&paper' trade magazine.

On the Monday, everything will revolve around online business and the internet, as well as body language and sales strategies.

The Tuesday will be devoted to the 'Green Office' with lectures on sustainability, resource conservation and environmental protection.

The highlights at Paperworld also include national and international awards ceremonies with prizes being presented in categories, such as new products, innovative business ideas or social commitment, daily throughout the fair.

Paperworld Insider Award (3.0 D40 – Paperworld Forum)
Presentation: Saturday, 26 January 2013, 14.00 hrs
The Insider Award is given for commitment, new ideas and boldness, and honours extraordinary initiatives taken by specialist retailers, e.g., personnel management, assortment compilations, product presentations, sales-promotion activities, social responsibility and ecological projects. The Insider Award was launched by Messe Frankfurt and bit-Verlag publishing company and is supported by the paper, office supplies and stationery wholesale trade, the German Office Supplies Association (Bundesverband Bürowirtschaft – BBW) and the Prisma retailer group.

Product of the Year 2013 (3.0 D40 – Paperworld Forum)
Presentation: Saturday, 26 January 2013, 16.00 hrs
The German Association of the Paper, Office Supplies and Stationery Industry (PBS-Industrieverband) will award the 'Product of the year' Awards for the 13th time at Paperworld 2013. The awards go to future-oriented articles in the categories 'Commercial Office Supplies', 'Small Office / Home Office', 'School and Private Requisites' and 'Presentation Concepts'. Additionally, the jury gives a 'Sustainability Award' to environmentally-friendly articles distinguished by sustainable production.

ISPA Award (3.0 D40 – Paperworld Forum)
Presentation: Sunday, 27 January 2013, 17.00 hrs
The ISPA Award for the Product of the Year is an international prize, which is presented during Paperworld. With the ISPA Award, the International Stationery Press Association (ISPA) honours the best projects in the categories Innovation, Quality, Price, Presentation and Environmental Protection.

Sector Personality of the Year (3.0 D40 – Paperworld Forum)
Presentation: Monday, 28 January 2013, 17.00 hrs
Who has been of particular service to the paper, office supplies and stationery sector in 2012 and will be the Personality of the Year? This question will be answered at Paperworld for the fifth time with the presentation of the coveted Sector Personality of the Year Award. Initiated by 'BusinessPartner PBS' and 'C.ebra' trade magazines, this readers' award honours people who have stood out over the last year through their personality, achievements, cooperative attitude or good ideas.

European Office Products Award
Presentation and Gala Dinner: Monday, 28 January 2013, 18.00 hrs, Forum 1, 'Saal Panorama'
The annual presentation of the European Office Products Awards by England's OPI trade magazine will once again be held within the framework of an evening event in the 'Forum' of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. The coveted awards are given in the categories Marketing, Customer Orientation, Innovation, Environmental Awareness, New Product Launch, Young Entrepreneur and Services for the Industry.

Design competition for greetings cards (Foyer 5.1 / 6.1)
There will be more cause for celebration at Paperworld 2013 when the winners of the 10th design competition for greetings cards will receive their awards in Café Card on 29 January. In cooperation with the German Association of Greetings Cards Manufacturers and Publishers (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hersteller und Verleger von Glückwunschkarten – A.V.G.), Paperworld has been encouraging art, design, graphic and communication design students to give their imagination free rein and design new greetings cards. From all entries received, a jury selects the best ten which are then displayed at Café Card during Paperworld. Visitors then have the opportunity to vote for their favourites and thus decide which card is to receive the coveted award. The awards ceremony will be held in Café Card at 14.00 hrs on Tuesday, 29 January 2013.
