paintistanbul 2012: Successful paint and coatings event

With more than 500 represented companies from 16 countries and approximately 10.000 overall participants from 62 countries, the paintistanbul trade show – held September 13−15, 2012 at the CNR Expo Fair Center in Istanbul – confirmed its rank as Turkey's leading exhibition for the paint and coatings industry. The parallel congress, held in both Turkish and English at the WOW Hotel and Convention Center, attracted 500 attendees from the coatings research and industry sectors.

"paintistanbul 2012 was the biggest event of Turkey and its region which puts together paint, coatings and raw materials industries", say paintistanbul 2012 Event Co-Presidents Ahmet Yiğitbaşı and Hakan Fidan from the Turkish coatings and paint association Bosad.

More than 300 well-known raw material suppliers, researchers, equipment manufacturers, and paint and ink manufacturers as well as packaging and logistics companies displayed a comprehensive range of products from all areas of the paint and coatings industry in an exhibition area of 20, 000 square meters. Exhibitors gave paintistanbul 2012 strong marks. Especially evident was the increased internationality of the event. This year was the first time that Bosad, the organizer of the biennial event, collaborated with two international partners. Together with the publishing house Vincentz Network, Bosad organized the conference program and the exhibition company NürnbergMesse promoted international sales in Europe, South and East Asia, and North, Central, and South America. Vincentz Network and NürnbergMesse intend to pursue discussions on a closer collaboration with Bosad for paintistanbul 2014.

Exhibitors: Valued gateway to Turkey and beyond
At paintistanbul 2012, pioneering products and the latest technologies were showcased by more than 300 companies. Most of the exhibitors participated with high end booth displays leading many to comment that this event was different from other industry events in Turkey in terms of the quality in display.

Majority of visitors from the Middle and Far East
The diverse origins of the paintistanbul trade show visitors underscored the show's importance as a gateway to the Turkish and neighboring markets. 13 percent of the trade visitors were from outside of Turkey. Four percent came from Iraq, Iran, Azerbaijan and other countries from the Turk Republics and Middle East.

Expertise-packed program at paintistanbul 2012 Congress
A program packed with high-level presentations awaited the 500 attendees of the paintistanbul 2012 Congress, which was held in both Turkish and English. Special highlights were the keynote presentations by Dirk Mestach from Nuplex Resins, who reported on compliance issues in the coatings industry, and George R. Pilcher from the ChemQuest Group who presented the "Transformational Thinking Concept" as a valuable tool for innovation in coatings. The program was further enriched by a suite of invited top-notch speakers from renowned international companies and universities. It was the first time that Bosad had access to the expertise of the publishing house Vincentz Network, who helped put together an impressive lineup of industry speakers.
