Hybrid Expo staged for the first time in 2013 in Stuttgart

With Hybrid Expo, the world's largest trade show organiser Reed Exhibitions further expands its materials trade fair portfolio. Hybrid Expo, a trade fair for hybrid materials, components and technology will premiere next year in Stuttgart.

Reed Exhibitions already organises Composites Europe, European trade fair for composite materials, and the Aluminium world trade fair. With more than 1,300 exhibitors, these two fairs have become the most successful and fastest-growing lightweight construction trade fairs in Europe. Meanwhile both events are also held successfully in, among other places, Shanghai, Mumbai, Dubai and Sao Paolo.

Hybrid materials - such as Glare, a glass-fibre reinforced aluminium especially developed for aircraft construction - combine several contrasting properties of materials such as plastics, ceramics, composites and metal and cumulatively exploit the combined advantages of the respective materials. Main users of hybrid components are the automotive, aerospace and electronics industries. Together, both fairs attract more than 20,000 trade visitors, 40 percent of whom come from abroad.

Similar to both these fairs, Hybrid Expo also focuses on the complete production and value chain: from materials research and technology, to manufacturing and processing methods, machinery and plant, and all the way to the finished component.

At the first Hybrid Expo event which will be held at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from 17 to 19 September 2013 at the same time as Composites Europe, Reed Exhibitions expects 150 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors. Altogether, 5,000 m² of exhibition space will be available in Hall 2.
