5,000+ investors to descend on the Melbourne Exhibition Centre

The investment and financial services sector will get a true insight into how investors are really feeling this week when over 5,000+ visitors get ready to descend on the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October.

They will be attending the annual Trading & Investing Seminars & Expo which since 2001 has been the leading and most comprehensive investor education event in Australia with over 40 daily seminars and workshops on offer, a major exhibition and even presentations in Mandarin Chinese.

Stock market volatility has become the 'norm' with an overwhelming array of local and global economic and political issues now affecting the value of the Australian 'nest egg'.

Consequently, regardless of your income or stage in life, it is now a lot more challenging for investors to find any clarity or confidence in what to do to protect and grow their money.

The event provides investors with the tools and strategies they need to help cut-through the 'chatter' and is a once-a-year opportunity to spend an information-packed two days getting up close and personal with many of these hard to reach experts including Dr Chris Caton, BT Managed Funds Chief Economist.

Chris' free session on the Main Stage is titled: "A Global Economic and Market Outlook" and will provide an informed perspective on what's really going on in Europe, how this impacts Australian investors, actionable strategies to protect your portfolio and how to capitalise on the opportunities a volatile stock market presents.

Other Seminar and Workshop topics include:

What not to do with your money – avoid common investor mistakes
How to find the best stocks and buy them for less than they're worth
How to get more from your Self-Managed Superannuation
Essential tips to find and select the right investment advisor for you
What does it take to quit your job and become a full-time trader
How to invest your money ethically and sustainably

The exhibition also offers a unique opportunity to see and compare a wide range of the latest financial and investment products and services, trading platforms, independent advisors, SMSF specialists, fund managers, brokers and software.

Representatives will also be on hand from government and independent associations including the Australian Shareholders Association (ASA), Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Australian Investors Association (AIA), Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA) and even the Australian Crime Commission who are presenting a free seminar on how to protect yourself against organised fraud.
