M-Days and Email-Expo to be held concurrently in 2013

Email is one of the most important applications in the mobile internet. According to a current study conducted by Artegic AG, an exhibitor at the last Email-Expo, email is used by 78 percent of smartphone and tablet users. For several years now, mobile marketing has been one of the main themes at M-Days, the congress and fair for mobile marketing and content solutions in Frankfurt am Main, which continuously illuminates the latest trends and solutions in this field, e.g., social targeting, location-based marketing and text-message marketing. In view of the links with the field of email marketing, M-Days is held concurrently with Email-Expo, a trade fair with a specialist forum for professional email marketing, at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.

With its high-grade exhibition and lecture programme, Email-Expo will be positioned parallel to the 8th M-Days on 5 and 6 February 2013. In the modern and highly functional environment of Hall 11.0 and the 'Portalhaus' entrance building of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, the two events provide an optimum setting for both the lecture and exhibition areas.

Marketing and communication experts in particular will profit from the synergies generated by the two events. Email-Expo is a specialist forum and trade fair for professional email marketing and impressed visitors for the third year running in 2012 with a series of high-grade lecture subjects. It is complemented by M-Days, which places special emphasis on marketing via the mobile channel – a channel that is also being used more and more for reading personal mails, and that permits a special, personal approach to specific target groups.

The 8th M-Days congress and fair for the mobile internet and applications continued its on-going success story with topical lecture subjects, increasing participant numbers and a growing level of internationality. Next year, M-Days will once again stand for continuous growth in this innovation-driven market.

For users of mobile devices, the main uses are, besides internet search functions, the opportunity to make contact and conduct dialogues by email. A recent study by O2 in Great Britain reveals that CEOs and executives are especially open to this form of communication. Even in the case of young people, the target group least likely to resort to them, mobile emails are still used by 70.8 percent.

In addition to modern stationary solutions, new mobile email tools offer access to new target groups, especially in the field of ecommerce because more and more consumers are using their mobile devices as the 'point of sale' on the internet. According to the results of the Online Shopping Survey (OSS) conducted by GfK this June, no less than 2.9 million German buyers aged between 14 and 69 used their smartphone to order products or services via the internet in 2011. In this connection, precise information helps them make their buying decisions. In many cases, this information concerns product properties and price, as well as health-relevant details, e.g., the allergens contained in food or textiles.
