NürnbergMesse China celebrates its 5th anniversary in Shanghai

The Chinese New Year in the sign of the dragon bodes well for the NürnbergMesse China celebrating its fifth year in the market: it means happiness, wealth and power for the first subsidiary by NürnbergMesse Group in Shanghai. Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, CEOs of NürnbergMesse Group, gave sincere thanks to Crane Fan, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse China, and his whole team in Shanghai: "Congratulations for five years dedicated activities in the Chinese market." The foundation of NürnbergMesse China manifested NürnbergMesse Group's successful export of its trade show expertise to the Asian market, including the Asian versions of NürnbergMesse's own BioFach and POWTECH, namely BioFach China and the International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition. Two new co-operations will additionally strengthen the position of NürnbergMesse China in the future. The co-organization of CHINA DIECASTING 2012 fits perfectly in the expertise of NürnbergMesse in the business area of die-casting, gained by longtime experience with the trade fair EUROGUSS. The tradeshow FISITA – International Exhibition for Automotive Manufacturing and Engineering opens up a new and promising field of industry to NürnbergMesse.

Fifth anniversary celebration of NürnbergMesse China

Being present on the Chinese market has become indispensable for international trade fair companies. The Chinese economy has been growing continuously, opening up for global players across the world. The economic productivity of the People's Republic of China grew by 9.4 percent in 2011 compared to 2010. In the last five years the exhibition space in China has also been growing steadily. Almost half of the newly created exhibition space worldwide was opened in China, with more than half of Asia's 15.5 million sqm of exhibition space rented in China alone. "NürnbergMesse China was our first subsidiary abroad; we now have four on three continents. This has strengthened our impact on the international trade business abroad and made our home events even more international, placing NürnbergMesse amongst the top exhibition grounds worldwide", said Petra Wolf, Director International Operations at NürnbergMesse Group.

Homemade expertise as a factor for success
BioFach, a well-known Nürnberg-made trade show concept, has conquered the world. To date, this format has been successfully exported and adapted to the requirements of the US, Japanese, Indian and Latin American markets. The Chinese version was launched in 2007, in NürnbergMesse China's first year. Since then the trade fair has shown continuous growth of exhibitor and visitor numbers, positioning the subsidiary successfully on the Chinese Market for organic products. The International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition (IPB) in Shanghai is another trade show in China benefitting from NürnbergMesse's focused trade show concepts. The event demonstrates the international expertise in the specialized field of powder, granule and bulk solids technologies. With the strong support of POWTECH in Nuremberg, Germany, the IPB approach explicitly focuses on the rapid development of the growing market in Asia. IPB is China's largest and most specialized international trade fair in the field. It is jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Particuology, NürnbergMesse China and Shanghai Worldwide Exhibitions.

"A dynamic development worldwide shows the increasing importance of regional trade show markets in other continents. NürnbergMesse has seized the opportunity to serve this market by exporting its own successful trade show concepts and trade show expertise", assume Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann. "We are convinced, that our team in Shanghai is heading for a successful year 2012."

Entering the Chinese die-casting market
In its latest move, NürnbergMesse will for the first time join hands with the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES) to organize the 8th China International Diecasting Congress & Exhibition (CHINA DIECASTING 2012). The co-operation is yet another reflection of NürnbergMesse's strategy to serve global markets with its trade show expertise. NürnbergMesse is already well versed in all business areas of die-casting, having organized EUROGUSS at home in Nuremberg for nine years running. The Nuremberg show is the biggest event to reflect the entire supply chain of die-casting in the world. CHINA DIECASTING 2012 is the largest event in the Chinese die-casting field. It is a market with enormous potential, driven by high demands from the construction and automotive industries. The eighth edition of the international die-casting congress and exhibition will be held in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 17 to 22 June 2012.

New co-operation opens up automotive sector
In addition to extending its existing industry expertise and offering exhibitor service and support, NürnbergMesse China has also broken new ground, adding the automotive industry to NürnbergMesse's portfolio. The trade fair "FISITA – International Exhibition for Automotive Manufacturing and Engineering" will be co-organized by NürnbergMesse China and the Society of Automotive Engineers of (SAE-China), hosting the FISITA World Automotive Congress & Exhibition in 2012. The exhibition is set to attract 400 exhibitors and 20, 000 visitors. The new exhibition will display the complete automotive production and engineering chain. Crane Fan is very pleased with the new cooperation: "It will combine existing core competences of NürnbergMesse Group such as die-cast and moulding, automation and sensors, embedded systems, coatings, and at the same time will also develop new core competences tailored to the Chinese market."

The future
The success of NürnbergMesse China in the past five years has set up a good platform for further development. In the next three to five years, it is planned that NürnbergMesse China will continue to expand its project portfolio, combining the core competences of NürnbergMesse Group and local Chinese expertise. It will also specially focus its attention on some of the second-tire cities in China, where great market potentials do exist but the fierce competition has yet to come.

China around the World
In addition to the above activities, NürnbergMesse China is exclusively managing the Chinese trade fair business of the NürnbergMesse Group by representing the trade fair company on the Chinese market and offering Chinese exhibitors the opportunity to participate at trade fairs organized by NürnbergMesse worldwide. Chinese exhibitors can take advantage of a carefree package including everything from the booth to travel organization and accommodation, tailored to the clients' needs. In 2011 e. g. over 800 Chinese companies participated in NürnbergMesse's trade shows in Germany. The subsidiary also aids for example Chinese visitors attending the American Coatings SHOW in the US, organized by the NürnbergMesse North America.
