Ethical Fashion Show in March 2012: new rendezvous in Paris

The all-new show, from 2nd to 4th March 2012, at the Espace Pierre Cardin, marks a new phase in the exhibition's development: putting ethical fashion into the spotlight during this week that is dedicated to design.

The choice of the Espace Cardin is the obvious choice to achieve this aim as it is an iconic address for Couture and Designers. It was established in 1970 by Pierre Cardin, who was keen to build a unique and magical venue that was capable of hosting every kind of artistic activity.

Ideally situated, at the crossroads of fashion during Fashion Week in Paris and of the golden triangle of Parisian fashion, adjacent to the Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the Tuileries and the numerous places where the showrooms are held (such as the Westin hotel, the Regina).

The Espace Pierre Cardin has considerable advantages when it comes to attracting the Fashion Week buyers. It will be transformed into a large, welcoming showroom and will admit buyers, journalists and the public at large, which is invited on the Sunday, so they can discover and buy the ranges offered by designers and firms for Winter 2013.

Focus on "designer" products to appeal to buyers at Fashion Week

A significant new direction will mark this March show: precedence will be given to quality by offering a selection that focuses exclusively on the collections from international labels that have a strong fashion identity. To achieve this, the show will only host around forty designers and intends to demonstrate that ethical fashion is also an ambassador for creativity.

The EFS has a strong desire to position ethical fashion, with a select range of products, on the international fashion scene of which Paris is the capital.

A unique programme and new Ethical Fashion Show Award for most inventive designers

The March 2012 rendezvous is scheduled as follows:

Days for the trade
On Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd March from 10h00 to 20h00 the showrooms will be open to professionals from the fashion industry, to boutiques, department stores and the press.

A special evening event dedicated to the press and selected boutiques
The Saturday evening, from 20h00 to 22h00, will be dedicated to the press and selected boutiques to allow them plenty of time to meet the designers and to carry out their buying in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

A day for both trade and the public
On Sunday 4th March, the showrooms will be open from 10h00 to 19h00 to both the trade and the public at large. Designers will have the opportunity to sell their creations to individuals directly.

The Ethical Fashion Show Award
The Ethical Fashion Show award will be given to the most inventive designers. It will be awarded by a jury made up of professionals from the fashion industry during the fair.

Outlook for 2012: a year with strong impulses for the Ethical Fashion Show.

- The Ethical Fashion Show has formed a long-term association for the future with ESMOD with the aim of including and developing ethical and sustainable fashion into their courses of study. An agreement also marked by a competition where students are invited to design a look made entirely with ecofriendly and organic materials. The designs will be exhibited during the March show.

- Starting in 2012, the Ethical Fashion Show will become a partner of the Dinard International Festival of Young Fashion Designers (13 to 15 April 2012) in sponsoring the Ethical Fashion Designer Award, which will be presented to the designer who best succeeds in integrating the ideas of sustainable development into their concept for their collection.

The launch of the Ethical Fashion Show in Berlin from 18 to 20 January 2012 will be followed by the Ethical Fashion Show from 2 to 4 March at the new location in Paris, which will take place during the Paris Fashion Week.

The second Ethical Fashion Show in Paris will take place from 6 to 9 September 2012 at the Le Carrousel du Louvre Paris.
