logitrans 2011 – supporting programme with German-Turkish Forum

A German-Turkish Forum will be taking place on the first day of the logitrans Transport Logistics Exhibition. This will be the first time the trade fair, being staged jointly by the Munich Trade Fair and Eko Fair Ltd in Istanbul between 8 to 10 December 2011, is offering a supporting programme. Politicians and trade experts from Germany will also be attending. The trade fair will be inaugurated on the first day of the event, Thursday, 8 December 2011, by Eugen Egetenmeir, Messe Munich's Managing Director, Ilker Altun, Director General of Eko Fair Ltd, and Dr. Andreas Scheuer, Parliamentary Secretary of State at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs. The Turkish Transport Minister, Binali Yıldırım, has been invited. This will be followed by a tour of the trade fair with Dr. Scheuer.

There will be a panel discussion on the first day of the trade fair at 2 p.m. under the banner "Logistics: Germany meets Turkey". Taking part in the discussion will be Secretary of State Dr. Scheuer, Martin Günthner, Bremen's Senator for Economic Affairs, Labour and Ports, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the Board of Management of the German Logistics Association (BVL) and Willem van der Schalk, Vice Chairman of the German Association of Freight Forwarders and Logistics Operators (DSVL).

Attending from the Turkish side will be Kosta Sandalci, Vice Chairman of UTIKAD (Freight Forwarders & Logistics Service Providers Association in Turkey) and a Member of the Board of Management of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association) and a representative of the Transport Ministry.

The forum will be moderated by Björn Helmke, Editor in Chief of the German Transport Newspaper (DVZ).

logitrans, the Transport Logistics Exhibition, takes place from 8 to 10 December 2011 at the Istanbul Expo Center ifm in Turkey. The 5th edition of the event is a joint venture of Messe München International (MMI), organiser of the worldwide leading exhibition transport logistic in Munich, and EKO Fair from Turkey, the strongest organiser of shows for the logistics sector in the region. The exhibition features a wide range of products and services along the entire value chain in logistics, telematics and transport.
