Heat Pump City Nürnberg

The European Heat Pump Summit 2011 takes place in the Nürnberg exhibition centre from 28–29 September. Under the motto of "The heat pump mission is low or no emission", the international conference event offers the latest technical information and an exchange of views with the leading figures in the heat pump sector.

The European Heat Pump Summit gives heat pump experts the opportunity to source information about current technology developments and their applications in Europe and worldwide. The conference programme starts on Wednesday, 28 September, with the Heat Pump Programme (HPP) of the IEA (International Energy Agency). IEA provides information from Europe, the USA and the Far East in various papers and presents its technology roadmap for "Energy Efficient Buildings: Heating and Cooling". IEA also offers a block of approx. 10 lectures on "Industrial Heat Pump Application", which will show the potential of the markets, discuss high-temperature refrigerants and examine a wide range of worldwide applications. The IEA programme will be supplemented with an overview of all current projects in the fields of development, research and demonstration.

Current issues in the European environment will be tackled by the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) in cooperation with the European Partnership for Energy and Environment (EPEE). Refrigerants will be examined from various perspectives, with a status report and an outlook on their use in heat pumps. Other themes to be dealt with in this block of altogether eight lectures that show the highly topical nature of the event are Energy-related Products (ErP), Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, Smart Cities, EU Cert and Quality Labels.

EHPA will also present its sound status and an outlook on the current European markets.

On Thursday, 29 September, the European Heat Pump Summit offers a broad spectrum of news plus an exchange of views on the planning, design and application of heat pumps with more than a dozen presentations from the industry. These will cover developments in heat exchangers, injection and control of evaporators, compressor technologies and the applications and integration of heat pumps. In this setting, component and heat pump manufacturers present new products that show the current status and the future for the varied possibilities of heat pumps in detached houses and commercial and industrial applications.

Parallel to these full-day lectures, there will be various presentations on development, research and demonstration from the extensive programme of the IEA's Heat Pump Centre.

Triad of events on heat pumps
The 9th Heat Pump Forum of the Bundesverband Wärmepumpe e.V. (BWP – Federal Heat Pump Association) provides information at the same place from 27–28 September 2011, and the ZVKKW Symposium on Air-Air HPs for Commercial Property takes place on the afternoon of the 28 September. Manufacturers, associations and organizations from the sector are available for dialogue at a Foyer Expo on all three days.

Chillventa 2012
Heat pumps also play a major role in Nürnberg in 2012, when the next Chillventa, the International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heat Pumps, takes place from 9–11 October 2012. The exhibition no longer starts as usual on Wednesday, but on Tuesday, and then ends after three days on Thursday. The Chillventa Congressing supporting programme starts traditionally the day before Chillventa, on Monday, 8 October 2012.
