Tendence in Frankfurt am Main

Traditionally, Tendence (26 to 30 August 2011) rings in the most important business season of the year – winter and Christmas. At the same time, the consumer-goods fair offers an initial preview of the spring and summer seasons of the following year. With over three months still to go before the doors open, the number of exhibitor registrations received is significantly greater than at this time last year. Moreover, around 95 percent of exhibition space has already been booked.

The Living section of the fair offers not only specialist retailers but also specialist markets, department stores, wholesalers and the import / export trade an international range of products covering all levels of quality. With around 1,000 exhibitors, Living presents furniture and furnishings, home accessories, home and household textiles, florists' requisites and festive decorations in five exhibition halls. Suppliers and manufacturers, such as Alessi, IHR, Koziol, Leonardo and Reisenthel, show their latest products and innovations within the framework of five product segments: Interiors & Decoration, Loft, Seasonal Decoration, Outdoor Living and Passage Home & Garden. Altogether, Tendence and the 2,000 exhibitors expected occupy the entire western section of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre with some 130, 000 square metres of exhibition space (gross).

Exhibitors such as Chilewich Zero One One, Henry Dean, Koziol, Philippi, Raumgestalt, Reisenthel, Sompex and Unseen Products present their design-oriented and avant-garde home accessories, furniture, luminaires and textiles in the Loft product segment. With exhibitors such as Alessi, Asa Selection, Leonardo, Menu, Seibel Designpartners and Stelton, the subject of wining and dining also has an international platform at Tendence.

A high-grade selection of international interior-decoration ideas with home accessories, furniture, textiles and luminaires comprises the Interiors & Decoration product segment. There, trade visitors will find exhibitors such as Anke Drechsel, daff feel filz, Eicholtz, Engels Kerzen, Fink, Goodwill, Guaxs, Haans, IHR, Lambert, O Living, Scholtissek, Sia, Tom's Company, van Roon and Zoeppritz.

With garden furniture, planters, outdoor pottery and lighting for the balcony or veranda, as well as picnic accessories, the focus of the Outdoor Living product segment is on life outdoors. And for those who would rather make themselves comfortable indoors, Seasonal Decoration is where decorative, party and festive articles, decorations, florists' requisites, artificial flowers and vases are to be found. Both product segments, with exhibitors such as Drescher, Edelman, Esschert Design, Gasper, Heemblomex, Kaemingk, Kersten, Nic Duysens and Sandra Rich, are located in Hall 8.0. Buyers of products in large quantities are well catered for at Passage Home & Garden where they will find home accessories, small pieces of furniture, textiles and decorations for indoors and outdoors.

Young, creative and, thanks to Tendence, on the threshold to success – at the 'Talents' promotional area in Galleria 0, international students, graduates and young designers have the chance to present their designs, prototypes and first small product lines. The emphasis is on product and furniture design. Another 'Talents' area focusing on jewellery is located in the Carat segment.

This year's Tendence Partner Country is Austria and visitors will find activities and information relating to Germany's neighbour throughout the fair. In addition to young, design oriented companies, traditional businesses and craftspeople will also be making guest appearances in Frankfurt am Main.

As the foremost order venue in the second half of the year, Tendence 2011 is the setting for the new 'Home & Trend Award'. With this seal of quality, the LifeCare Initiative aims to draw attention to consumer-goods products distinguished not only by individual qualities but also by a well-rounded overall concept. The award-winning products will be selected by an independent jury of experts, and consumers. The 'Trend Product of the Year' award goes to products in the following categories: 'Bathroom & Wellness', 'Garden & Leisure', 'Furniture & Interior Decoration' and 'Home Textiles & Decoration'. During Tendence, there will be a special 'Home & Trend Award' exhibition in the Interiors & Decoration segment.
