Stone+tec Nuremberg 2011

Stone+tec Nürnberg 2011, which takes place in the Nürnberg exhibition centre from 22–25 June, comes at a good time. Despite the weakness of some individual members, the economic signs for the majority of the EU countries and the neighbouring countries indicate growth again. In Germany alone, the forecast for 2010 has been corrected upwards in December for the second time. Experts currently assume that the gross domestic product will grow by 3.6 per cent, which would be the strongest growth since German reunification. The main factor for this growth is the continuing big demand from abroad. The forecasts for the euro zone are somewhat lower, but also clearly in the positive range.

Italy as one of the classic natural stone countries has a machinery construction industry with a long tradition as well as its stone deposits. "The Italian manufacturers in this sector are undoubtedly among the key players throughout the world, " says Willy Viethen, Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse. "We are therefore all the more pleased to have signed a cooperation agreement with the Italian association Confindustria Marmomacchine for the coming Stone+tec." Its member companies will present their products on a total of over 1, 700 square metres at Stone+tec Nürnberg.
