NürnbergMesse China: Crane Fan takes over management

Crane Fan, the present Deputy Managing Director of NürnbergMesse China, is to assume the post of Managing Director with effect from 1 January 2011 as successor to Axel Bartkus, who returns to Nürnberg.This decision by the Board of Directors of NürnbergMesse China was confirmed by the Supervisory Board of NürnbergMesse at its last meeting at the beginning of December.

NürnbergMesse China founded in 2006 now employs 13 Chinese colleagues with a portfolio of three own events in Shanghai: BioFach China, Automation Shanghai and International Powder Bulk. There are also partnerships with the China International Pet Show (CIPS) and Fenestration China. NürnbergMesse China will generate total revenues of some 1.4million euros in the current financial year.

Crane Songhe Fan, 38, started work at NürnbergMesse China as deputy for Axel Bartkus in 2008 and took over operational responsibility for the company's own events portfolio. Before this, Fan worked for six years as project manager for Messe München China.

After almost five years in China, Bartkus is to head the Asia desk of the Team International Sales & Business Development in future and will utilize his cultural, language and exhibition expertise to promote further development of NürnbergMesse in this booming region.
