ISH 2011: Exhibition Centre already fully booked up

With around six months still to go before the next ISH opens its doors in Frankfurt am Main from 15 to 19 March 2011, Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre is already fully booked up. Covering 250,000 square metres, the world's leading trade fair for sustainable sanitation solutions, innovative bathroom design, efficient heating and air-conditioning technology in combination with renewable energies will occupy the whole of the exhibition centre. Over 2,300 companies, including all market and technology leaders from home and abroad, will launch their latest products – technology and solutions ready for immediate use and not just visions or concepts – onto the world market at ISH 2011. Messe Frankfurt expects to welcome over 200,000 visitors.spliter

Accounting for 40 percent of the total, buildings are the world's biggest energy consumers. At the same time, however, they offer an enormous potential for saving energy. And the industry shows how best to do this at ISH. Moreover, visitors to the fair can see that intelligent buildings not only mean cost and energy savings but also increased comfort and security. But that is not all – the world's biggest showroom for the bathroom will present the design trends for 2011 and 2012.

Exhibitors with sustainable, design-oriented bathroom solutions make their presentations in the ISH Water section under the motto 'Water for People'. The world's biggest showroom reveals the latest design developments and ultra-modern, sustainable technology, in other words, the entire spectrum from high-technology to high-end design.

The three main trends for 2011/12 are called: 'Green Bathroom: back to nature!', 'Easy Bathroom: it couldn't be easier!' and 'Bathroom Interior: away from the wall!' Everything in the Green Bathroom revolves around the responsible use of a scarce resource, water, and sustainable bathroom design, which means, for example, using recyclable materials, such as copper, steel, wood, glass and ceramic. The Easy Bathroom trend stands for ease of access to the bathroom – but not just in old age. The aim is comfort across the generations so the bathroom offers users of all age groups optimum conditions and comfort without having to go without good design. The idea of age-appropriate bathrooms is taken up by the third trend, Bathroom Interior, which is closely linked with a new interpretation of the bathroom calling for new specifications and corresponding room concepts.

The ISH Water section is to be found together with the World of Installation Technology in Halls 3, 4, 5 and 6, as well as the 'Festhalle' and the 'Forum' in the eastern part of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. The complementary programme of ISH Water covers the themes of the spectrum of products to be seen, e.g., the 'Pop up my bathroom' trend forum, which is integrated into the 'Waterlounge' in Hall 3.1.

The ISH Energy section with building-services and energy technology, renewable energies and air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation technology will be located in Halls 8, 9, 10 and 11 in the eastern part of the Exhibition Centre. There, manufacturers will present their latest products focusing on efficient systems using renewable energies, such as solar and geothermal energy or biomass so visitors will be able to see the entire range of innovative building-systems technology. Air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation technology is to be found under the name Aircontec at ISH and the exhibitors there also present sustainable, future-oriented solutions, e.g., not only heat pumps for heating and cooling, solar air-conditioning, waste-heat recovery but also free cooling and indirect evaporative cooling. The emphasis of the complementary programme of ISH Energy is also on ways in which more and more energy can be saved using new technologies, e.g., at the ISH Technology and Energy Forum, the Air-conditioning Forum and the Tiled Stove Forum.

Aircontec will be held in the new Hall 11 for the first time in 2011 and thus underscore the cross-disciplinary energy links to heating technology in the nearby Halls 8, 9 and 10. The advantages for visitors include an even more transparent layout, shorter distances between the two sections and a more relaxed visit to the fair.
