fensterbau/frontale and Holz-Handwerk 2010

The exhibition duo of fensterbau/frontale, the International Trade Fair Window, Door and Facade, and HOLZ-HANDWERK, the European Trade Fair for Machine Technology, Equipment and Supplies for the Wood Crafts, which takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg every two years, impressively confirmed its status as highlight for the two sectors.

Altogether 1,273 exhibitors from all over the world made the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg the hub for wood crafts, windows, doors and facades from 24–27 March 2010. The number of exhibitors in the fully booked halls was therefore the same as at the previous event in 2008. The number of visitors even slightly exceeded the level of the previous event: On the four days of the exhibitions, 103, 974 trade visitors (2008: 102, 947) poured into the halls and onto the stands of the exhibitors to source information about new products and innovations and get fit for future business with firm investments and lots of information.

HOLZ-HANDWERK 2010 achieved the same size as in 2008 with 515 exhibitors from 17 countries. The leading exhibiting nations at HOLZ-HANDWERK after Germany were Austria and Italy. The visitors found a new or improved product on almost all stands at HOLZ-HANDWERK, and 87 per cent of the exhibitors had visitors from countries outside Germany, especially from Austria, Italy, France, the Benelux States, Poland, the Czech Republic, Central Eastern Europe and North Eastern Europe. Nine out of ten exhibitors were satisfied with the overall success of their presence at the exhibition in Nürnberg and have already decided to exhibit again in two years' time.

Some two-thirds of the visitors at HOLZ-HANDWERK came from the craft trades, another 12 per cent from the industry, followed by the wholesale and retail trade.

58 per cent of them say HOLZ-HANDWERK is the only exhibition they visit for this theme. Eight out of ten visitors are involved in procurement decisions in their company, and as many as a third decisively influence these decisions.

fensterbau/frontale 2010 also proved its extraordinary stability with 758 exhibitors from 33 countries. Besides Germany, the most exhibitors came from Poland, Italy, Austria and Turkey. 97 per cent of the companies recorded international visitors on their stands, headed by the immediate neighbouring countries, followed by Italy, Great Britain, Russia and Turkey and countries in all the other continents. Nine out of ten exhibitors showed a new product or innovation in Nürnberg, three-quarters of them rated their overall success as satisfactory to good, and 13 per cent even very good. 90 per cent had already decided at the end of the 2010 exhibition: We'll be there again in 2012!

A good half of the visitors at fensterbau/frontale 2010 came from the craft trades and another quarter of them from the industry. 11 per cent were wholesalers, retailers and builders' merchants, and five per cent architects. Eight out of ten visitors are involved in purchasing and procurement decisions in their company. Around 20 per cent of the visitors not only used the extensive range of products, but also the special information and training opportunities, such as the 5th Forum Architecture–Windows–Facades, the metallbauTreff or the special show "The good ones are efficient in all disciplines!"

The next fensterbau/frontale and HOLZ-HANDWERK duo takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 21–24 March 2012.
