Tendence: international trend platform for living and giving

Creative lifestyle, living and giving – these are the three themes that will be be setting the tone from 27 to 31 August in Frankfurt am Main. This consumer-goods event is the most international of all events in the second half of the year and, for those five days, Tendence will be welcoming exhibitors, trade visitors, designers and trend scouts from right across the world. The consumer goods fair is not only a not-to-be-missed date for design-oriented specialist retailers, who come to place their orders for the autumn, winter and Christmas shopping seasons. It also gives an early preview of the spring and summer products for the following year. With the two trade fairs, Giving and Living, it provides the trend platform for home and gifts.

Personal gifts are in demand as never before. For those on the hunt for exciting and attractive products, Giving offers the best possible platform for creative ideas. Be it trendy lifestyle products, cute soft toys, traditional wood art or high-quality jewellery – there is something here for every taste. The defined product areas help visitors find their way through the vast array of products on offer. In 'Gifts Unlimited' in Hall 9.1, the emphasis is on traditional gift articles. The range continues in Hall 9.2, where 'Kids World', 'Manufakturen and Collectables' and 'Personal Accessories' provide futher areas of focus. Hall 9.3 is all about jewellery with 'Carat'; it houses the 'Arts and Crafts' product group as well. In Hall 10.1, exhibitors from overseas will be showcasing their extensive ranges in the 'Passage Gifts' area. Stylish, young and bold ideas will be presented by suppliers in 'Young & Trendy' in Hall 11.1. This unique range means that Giving is the ordering platform which falls just at the right time for the high-volume Christmas trade.

Trade visitors seeking exclusive and stylish products with emotional appeal to enhance their home décor ranges will discover them aplenty in the total of five product sections at Living. The 'Loft' product group can be found in the modern and exclusive surroundings of Hall 11. Trade visitors will find design-oriented and avant-garde home accessories, furniture, lighting, textiles, as well as modern design for everything to do with the dining table and the enjoyment of food. Together with 'Young and Trendy' is mainly the place for design ideas for living and giving. The 'Interiors & Decoration' section will present all sorts and kinds of mood for the home, with a first-class selection of international furnishing ideas, home accessories, furniture, textiles and lighting. In the 'Seasonal Decoration' and 'Outside Living' sections the focus will be on attractive features for indoors and outdoors. Here, trade visitors will find on show a wide range of decorative articles, garden furniture, plant pots and holders and outdoor items. 'Passage' is the place for volume buyers. 'Passage Home & Garden' will be presenting home accessories, small furniture items, textiles and decorative ideas for life in the open air. 'Passage Table & Kitchen' will showcase glass and crockery, metal and plastic items, as well as kitchen equipment and accessories.

Tendence is more in demand than ever, not only as an international ordering venue but also as a centre for design and trends. An individual but representative cross-section of the products on show at Tendence will be displayed in 'Personal Shopper', assembled by Viennese designer Julia Landsiedl. In 2010, Tendence will once again be promoting young design: in the 'Talents' section, young designers have the opportunity to showcase their prototypes and short-run production items to an international public and to establish initial contacts. 'Next' is aimed at young designers, who have already had some success in the sector, but who want to establish themselves more securely. The support programme offers a platform for young international companies with a design background to create closer business relations and to get their name more widely known.
