Agritechnica 2009: preliminary results of a survey of exhibitors

The exhibition organiser commissioned the firm Wissler & Partner Trade Fair Marketing from Basel to conduct a representative survey of exhibitors at Agritechnica, the world’s largest exhibition for agricultural machinery and equipment (Hannover, Germany, from November 10 to 14). All the exhibition stands were included in this survey on Friday, 13. November. Answers from 642 exhibitors were available for the preliminary analysis.

Overall result of participation in Agritechnica 2009:

94 % of the exhibitors reported at the close of the exhibition that their participation had led to a positive overall result (2007: 87 %). 70 % reported very good and good results (67 %). 24 % reported satisfactory results (20 %). 4 % reported less satisfactory and poor results ( 10 %). 2 % did not reply ( 3 %).

Assessment of the number of visitors:

88 % of the exhibitors had very many, many, or satisfactory numbers of visitors on their stands (2007: 79 %).

Assessment of the qualification of visitors:

89 % of the exhibitors rated the technical qualification of visitors as very good, good or satisfactory (2007: 86 %).

Contacts with new customers:

87 % of the exhibitors reported contacts with new customers during Agritechnica 2009 (2007: 82 %). 56 % reported many contacts ( 54 %).

Expectations for post-exhibition business:

88 % of the exhibitors assessed the prospects for the post-exhibition business positively (2007: 84 %).

55 % expected very good and good prospects( 57 %).

33 % expected satisfactory prospects ( 27 %).
