Agritechnica Hannover – more international than ever

Agritechnica, held biennially in November, is the world's leading exhibition for agricultural machinery and equipment. This year's stand registration figures make this eminently clear yet again. With over 2,300 exhibitors from 46 countries, the organiser DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) reports a further increase in the number of companies and organisations with stands.

It is now some seven percent higher than at the last event in 2007. At the same time the exhibition floor space has grown by a further five percent. All the world's leading companies in the industry are represented, and some 500 new exhibitors aim to use the international marketplace of Agritechnica to present their products too. Together they will be presenting a complete and unique product spectrum adapted to the wide range of globally differing needs up to and including Saturday, 14 November 2009. The outstanding scope of offerings from the manufacturers is being supplemented by a wide range of international events at which technology trends will be highlighted and all key questions relating to the future of agriculture and agricultural machinery and equipment will be discussed.

Participation from other countries outside Germany has reached a new record level at this year's Agritechnica too. Over 1,100 international exhibitors (plus 15 percent by comparison with 2007) are displaying their products and services. They account for nearly 50 percent of Agritechnica exhibitors. And the total number of participating countries at 46 (2007: 36) represents a new record too. This makes Agritechnica more international than ever. Countries with particularly large contingents of exhibitors are Italy, the Netherlands, France, Turkey, Austria, China, Argentina, Denmark, Spain, the United Kingdom and Canada. Conspicuous increases in numbers are noted in particular from France, Turkey, China, Canada, Argentina and India. The increase in the number of jont national pavilions from Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Canada, Pakistan and the USA is also gratifying. The DLG views the high level of foreign participation as a distinct indication of the growing global orientation of the agricultural machinery industry and agribusiness with their worldwide interdependencies.
