Pitney Bowes Business Insight “Takes Place” at GeoCommunity 09

Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), a global provider of location and communication intelligence software, data and services, announces the details of its vision for the wholly location intelligent organisation will be delivered through a keynote session from Jon Winslow, Location Intelligence Global Portfolio Director, PBBI, at this year's Association for Geographic Information (AGI) conference – GeoCommunity 09 – taking place in Stratford-upon-Avon, 22-24 September 2009. PBBI is a Platinum Sponsor of the conference.

Under its mantra: Locate, Connect, Communicate, PBBI will exemplify its vision by hosting a series of presentations, interactive solutions workshops and seminars over the three days.

Critically, GeoCommunity 09 will serve as the platform for showcasing market-leading applications which enable shared data access and analysis via the desktop, a web browser or mobile device, delivered through on-premise, hosted or SaaS solutions and capable of integration with other business critical enterprise and operational systems.

In support of PBBI's vision for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Location Intelligence (LI), a 2009 research report Location Intelligence Unlocks the 'Where' in BI published by Datamonitor company, Ovum states; "LI is slowly starting to gain acceptance as a way of helping businesses improve their operational performance and processes by putting a geographic lens on their traditional BI analyses. LI, in an enterprise context, is an emerging market with significant undiscovered potential."

Jon Winslow, Global Portfolio Director for Location Intelligence, PBBI, comments, "PBBI has a long-established history in the specialist GIS market underpinned by our leading business mapping and analysis application, MapInfo Professional. In recent years, since we coined the term 'location intelligence', we have extended our capabilities in order to better enable organisations worldwide to deliver location-based insight to the enterprise. As organisations in both the public and private sector are beginning to realise the value of integrating location-based data with enterprise systems, what is needed is a pragmatic and evolutionary move towards the realisation of the wholly location intelligent organisation. Such a move calls for partnership with a trusted, specialist location intelligence technology provider who possesses the necessary breadth and depth in experience, knowledge and capability."

Winslow continues, "We are taking the opportunity at GeoCommunity 09 to demonstrate both the thinking and the tools required for organisations to become wholly location intelligent, with products that make the web an integral part of geographic and location-based data and make that data truly accessible across the enterprise. In this regard, Pitney Bowes Business Insight is uniquely placed to set the location intelligence agenda for 2010 and beyond."

Jon Winslow will be making his keynote address at 11:00 am on 24 September:
