28th MOTEK – More than Just the Automation Event for the Year 2009

The MOTEK international trade fair for handling and assembly technology is asserting itself in a difficult economic setting, and will present practical means for recovering from the economic low-point. With a genuine fireworks display of information and presentations, the 28th MOTEK, which will take place at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from 21 through 24 September 2009, is gearing up for a small but sustainable upswing.

Now that the economy is displaying initial signs of recovery, the 28th MOTEK international trade fair for handling and assembly technology will be held at precisely the right time. "Emerge from the crisis stronger than ever" is the motto of the 999 exhibitors who are currently registered for participation at the 28th MOTEK and the 3rd BONDexpo (936 exhibitors for MOTEK and 63 for BONDexpo at the end of July 2009).

Large Percentage of Exhibitors from Germany, Switzerland and Austria

The large percentage of exhibitors from the German speaking countries, amounting to 856, would make it appear that the exhibiting companies have done their homework and have dismissed the policy of "sticking their heads in the sand" as a dead-end road. Of course the same applies to the roughly 150 exhibitors from 18 further countries, who will once again journey to the leading international trade fair in the southern German city of Stuttgart. As announced by MOTEK project manager Rainer Bachert, exhibition floor space, as expected, has unfortunately not kept up with the entirely satisfactory trend demonstrated by exhibitor numbers, so that a drop from roughly 430,000 to a current level of 325,000 square feet of net floor space has been registered.

He Who Demonstrates Presence Comes Out Ahead

However, presence at the leading international trade fair for handling and assembly technology, as well as industrial handling, is important, for which reason trade fair promoter P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG and its team, together with numerous institutions, will make sure that the markets are set into motion.

And thus the new theme parks covering topics such as mechatronics and microsystems technology are meeting with great interest, and their participants will include highly interesting companies, as well as world class speakers at the supplementary presentation events. In addition to this, the congress entitled "Looking to the Future", which will be held in cooperation with the Mechatronics Competence Network BW, will point out ways and means of escaping the crisis and preparing for the upturn which will surely follow on its heels.

Interesting Supplementary Events

At the same time, the Foundation for Economic Promotion in the Stuttgart region will hold a training and vocational education conference at MOTEK on the 24th of September, in order to point out important industry trends to human resources and training managers from the field of machinery and equipment manufacturing, and to sketch out their effects on current and future employee qualification requirements. This will be followed by a so-called Career Walk, i.e. a trade fair tour for the target group comprising students with technical and business management backgrounds, during which, amongst other activities, four companies will be visited in order to become more familiar with their products and career opportunities. Finally, exhibitors will have the opportunity of introducing their companies and fields of expertise to a broad range of expert visitors at the highly popular MOTEK exhibitor forum, and thus of addressing potential new customers.
