Nürnbergmesse Boasts Two New Guest Events

NürnbergMesse is expanding its portfolio of international guest events: CCN Ost at NürnbergMesse makes its debut as venue for the International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials from 11-16 October 2009. The conference is organized by the semiconductor companies Infineon and SiCED, the Fraunhofer Institute IISB and the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg.

The European Microwave Association based in Belgium and the international publisher Horizon House, the organizers of the European Microwave Week, have also decided on the Nürnberg venue. Europe's biggest exhibition for microwave technology takes place for the first time in Nürnberg in October 2013 – it has already toured the European metropolises of Amsterdam, London, Milan, Manchester, Paris and Rome.

Both the International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials and the European Microwave Week are travelling events that change their location every year to reach a very international audience. The organizers of the International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials in October expect 450 to 600 visitors from more than 25 countries on each day of the conference.

After recent successful events in other countries, including the USA (Pittsburgh) and Japan (Otsu), Infineon, SiCED, the Fraunhofer Institute IISB and the Friedrich-Alexander-University chose CCN Ost at NürnbergMesse as the venue for the 13th International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials for the first time. Besides a compact location, the modern building complex opened in 2005 offers visitors a graded range of rooms with large plenary halls and many smaller conference and working rooms in the immediate surroundings. Exhibitors and conference visitors in Nürnberg also profit from the international airport and the well-developed public transport network.

Four conferences at the European Microwave Week
The European Microwave Week started as a travelling exhibition in Amsterdam in 1998. It rapidly developed into Europe's biggest exhibition for microwave technology. The international exhibitors occupy some 7, 500 square metres of gross display area every year and welcome up to 4, 000 visitors from industry, research and science during the five-day event, which is accompanied by four conferences: the European Microwave Conference, the European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference, the European Radar Conference and the European Wireless Technology Conference, which present promising developments in the microwave, millimetre-wave and submillimetre-wave ranges in addition to existing applications.

The European Microwave Association, an international non-profit association, and the international publisher Horizon House are responsible for the concept of the European Microwave Week. The aim of the European Microwave Association is to promote and develop microwave technology in research and science.
