CIOE 2009 Expects Strong Growth in International Participation

The 11. China International Optoelectronic Expo will be staged from September 6 – 9, 2009 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in South China. As the leading exhibition for optoelectronics in Asia, the CIOE expects more than 2,100 exhibitors on an exhibition area of 70,000 sqm.

The CIOE will display the latest trends in optical communications, lasers and infrared applications, precision optics, and LED technologies within three sub-expos. Many international market leaders like Neophotonics, Edmund Optics, and JDSU have already confirmed their participation in the CIOE 2009.

International Participation at the CIOE 2009

In the international zone of the exhibition, the CIOE will present country pavilions from Canada, France, Germany and Great Britain. German companies will exhibit their technologies at the first German joint stand, which is supported by the German industry association Spectaris. The Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transportation and Technology invites companies from the German state Bavaria to showcase their products at the Bavarian Pavilion. After successfully organising a delegation to the CIOE 2008, the Photonics Cluster (UK) invites British companies to join a country pavilion in 2009. As in previous years, country pavilions from Canada and France will be organised by CATA Alliance and UBIFRANCE.

CIOE introduces new features in 2009

The CIOE will introduce new features during the 2009 event: New Product Presentation Forums will be set up in the hall of each sub-expo of the CIOE and innovative manufacturers are invited to present their latest technologies and products to the audience of the exhibition.

The Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Office for Science and Technology Awards will co-organize a National Science and Technology Exhibition for Optoelectronics concurrently to the CIOE. The exhibition will display optoelectronic achievements of the last five years, with a focus on optoelectronic projects and products that won the first or, respectively, second prize of the National Science and Technology Award.

The first China Optics Forum will be launched as an international conference concurrently to the CIOE. With the support of an international conference committee chaired by Professor Zhou Binkun, President of the Chinese Optical Society, and Professor Michael Pfeffer, Chairman of the German Society for Applied Optics, the China Optics Forum will invite renowned speakers to present their insights in the field of precision optics and optical manufacturing. The China Optics Forum will take place from September 6 – 7 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.

The CIOE is organised by BMC Herong Exhibitions Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the German Business Media China AG, and is supported by all important Chinese governmental institutions such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Chinese Academy of Science.
