| CMS 2009: Outstanding Supporting Programme Aimed Its supporting programme is one of the main features of the trade fair CMS 2009 Berlin – Cleaning.Management. Services. From 22 to 25 September this event provides all representatives of this industry with opportunities for acquiring the latest information through a series of papers, panel discussions and presentations. At the heart of the supporting programme is the CMS Forum, covering aspects such as services as well as the market for cleaning machinery and products. The subject matter has been prepared by the sponsoring associations of the CMS. For the first time the National Guild Association of the Building Cleaning Trade (BIV), Bonn, the cleaning systems trade association Fachverband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau (VDMA), Frankfurt, and Industrieverband Hygiene und Oberflächenschutz (IHO), Frankfurt, which is responsible for industrial hygiene and surface protection, will be jointly staging an opening event on the theme of "Cleaning Services in Europe 2010". In addition to the CMS Forum the year's most important European trade fair for cleaning systems, building management and services will also be presenting a number of other conferences and meetings. The Kommunale Gemeinschaftsstelle für Verwaltungsmanagement (KGSt), Cologne, a professional body representing management in local government, will be providing opportunities for discussions between municipalities. The event dealing with the subject of "Municipal building cleaning today" on 23 September is intended for all staff involved in organising building cleaning work, for service departments in the buildings sector, and for the providers of cleaning services. A number of exhibitors (including Dr. Schnell, mobiloclean, rationell reinigen) will also be presenting papers and seminars throughout the fair. Special shows on the practical aspects of "Glass and Façade Cleaning" and "Aerial Work Platforms" will be held four times daily from 22 to 24 September, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and three times on 25 September between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The technical show "Supplementary Services" in Hall 2.2 deals with innovative machinery, systems and technology for outdoor cleaning and maintenance. Acting in association with Messe Berlin GmbH the Eastern Committee of German Industry will be organising a contact centre at the CMS, which is intended to promote joint ventures with Central and Eastern Europe. During the fair the "East-West Information Centre" will provide exhibitors and trade visitors with opportunities for holding discussions with representatives from these countries on aspects such as the current market situation and the developments expected during the next few years. This stand (Hall 1.2, Stand 108) is a place where business contacts can be established and improved, and where meetings can be held with representatives of the region's trade associations. Messe Berlin will be presenting its "Purus Award" for the third time at the CMS in recognition of outstanding design quality. The winners in the four categories will be announced at a reception at the CMS on 23 September. This year the CMS 2009 is providing a new service for all trade visitors. Numerous trade publications will be supplying useful background details on the Trade Press Stand, Hall 3.2, Stand 111.
