EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009

From July 8 – 10, 2009, the 7th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology and The 6th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment & Contractor's Supplies (namely as EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009) will be staged at Shanghai International Exhibition Center, PR China. A series of conference, forum and symposium featuring the burning topics of the electric power industry will be held alongside the exhibition.

According to the market forecast, the Chinese government will formulate plans on the power grid enhancement and function improvement for operational effectiveness, providing tremendous demand for advanced equipment especially in the transmission and distribution sector, and thus a wealth of opportunities to those equipment manufacturers. In a recent press briefing held in Shanghai, the organizers have announced to host several specialized events alongside EP Shanghai tailored for the industrial players.

One of the most attention-grabbing activities is the Electric Power Industry Technology & Power Grid Construction and Development Conference organized by China Electricity Council. It will feature the hottest topic of Smart Grid – applying new technologies in the delivery of electricity from power plants to end-users in order to save energy and reduce cost. They are supposed to be applied in the power generation, distribution and demand chains. Specialists from the State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid Corporation Ltd, China Guodian Corporation and Southeast University will give the Chinese perspective on the prospect of smart grid development in China. Besides, speakers from ABB, Siemens will deliver speeches on the concepts, technology and products from European Perspective, while Eaton, S&C, GE Energy and Emerson led by National Electrical Manufacturers Association will deliver talks on smart grid from the US perspective.

To have an in-depth review on the local electric power industry, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council and the Electric Power Reliability Management Center will also deliver "Report on China's Electricity Supply and Demand in the First Half of 2009" and "Report on the Reliability of Major Power Generation and Power T& D Equipment in 2008", serving as an indicator for the sourcing of electric power equipment.

Moreover, electric power automation and energy saving will be another highlights of EP Shanghai 2009. The "Green Industrial Revolution - Electric Power Automation Technology Forum" will be held on July 9 and presented by specialists from Chinese Association of Automation, ARC Advisory Group, Phoenix Contact, GE Fanuc, etc. In another session namely "Green Industrial Revolution – Energy Conservation & Emission Reduction Automation Technology Forum", professionals from Chinese Association of Automation, Siemens, ABB and Fluke Corporation will give insights on the applications of energy-saving technologies.

This year, the Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation will not only take their first attempt to organize a Russian pavilion at the fairground, they will also participate in the "Symposium on Power T&D Technology, Green Power" and give topics on 'Development of Distributed and Low Energy Objects on the Base of Gas-Turbine Installation' and join with Quartz New Technologies to speak for 'Cooperation with Chinese Partners in Execution of Infrastructure Energy Project'.

Organized by China Electricity Council and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 is the largest electric power exhibition in China. In this year, the exhibition scale has expanded 30% compared to the last edition, and will gather 400 leading suppliers from 20 countries/regions and international pavilions from Germany, United States and Russia. Renowned exhibitors include ABB, Areva, Siemens, Chint, Dongfang Electric, Hyosung, 3M, Schniewindt, Japan AE Power, Hitachi, Toshiba, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Ormazabal, Wacker, Rittal, Roechling, Daihen, MR CHINA, Pentair, Aggreko, NARI, NERC and KGE, etc.

EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 is the most established exhibition in China that comprises both local and overseas leading suppliers under one roof to display a spanning of equipment and technologies from power generation, power transmission & distribution, construction & engineering of turn-key project, power dispatching system, to industrial power equipment, transformer, switch, automation system, power circuit breaker, testing, measurement & control equipment, energy saving technology.

The Online Exhibition of EP Shanghai / Electrical Shanghai 2009 is open now which allow visitors to preview the exhibits in advance. Pre-registered visitors will be entitled to a free fair catalogue which costs RMB 50 and other privileges.
