MTA VIETNAM 2009

In recognition of Vietnam's emerging manufacturing industry potential as a major growth area for foreign investment, TRUMPF Asia Pacific, the Asia-Pacific subsidiary of global leading manufacturing company TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG in Germany, has pledged its participation in the upcoming sixth edition of MTA VIETNAM2009 as part of its campaign to promote and expand its business into Vietnam's manufacturing industry.

Bilateral trade and investment ties between Vietnam and Germany saw strong growth in recent years. This is a result of the Vietnamese Government's efforts to improve the investment environment and encourage German businesses to enter and operate in the country. In 2008, German businesses invested a total of US$600 million into projects. The country is also Vietnam's biggest trade partner among EU members with two-way trade reaching US$3.2 billion in 2008. The Vietnam-Germany University, recently inaugurated in September 2008, is the first joint collaboration in education between both countries and offers courses in civil and electrical engineering.

"Vietnam, as an emerging economy, has the potential to recover faster compared to other Asian countries after this worldwide melt-down. Empowered with its young, educated and diligent workforce, Vietnam's prospects as an attractive manufacturing ground have intensified for serious investors, " commented Mr. Edward Yuen, General Manager for TRUMPF Singapore. "An exhibition as comprehensive as MTA VIETNAM has resulted in good business partnerships and business enquiries for us. With plans for a second representative office in Vietnam this year, the added exposure we can gain from TRUMPF's fifth return to MTA VIETNAM2009 will be invaluable."
