ExpoBici: Bike To Te Future

ExpoBici is growing: nearly one hundred exhibitors have confirmed their presence, from companies participating directly, to distributed brands, to "gran fondo" race partners, at the second edition of ExpoBici, scheduled from 19 to 21 September 2009 in Padua. The first edition gained the approval of the exhibitors, along with positive comments from many visitors, registering results that pleasantly surprised the organizers themselves: 200 exhibitors, between direct and represented, 10,000 sqm of display space, 22,000 visitors of whom 4,200 professional operators, but especially an atmosphere of enthusiasm that hadn't been felt for years around the bicycle product in Italy. A quite significant result when considering the context of the great lack of confidence felt among many division experts regarding the actual capacity of the fair instrument to satisfy the visibility and promotional needs of the sector in Italy.

The success of ExpoBici has instead shown that the potential of the demand on the Italian market is not depleted with the participation in trade fairs, even of the highest level, in Germany or in other European countries: some exhibitors from the last edition confirmed that attendance of Italian dealers at foreign fairs does not reach more than 15-20%.

"We believed right from the start in the need for a top-quality Italian showcase for the cycling sector, we have worked with passion and devotion in creating a business instrument adapted to the needs of Italian companies, and with the prospect of foreign companies becoming interested in entering our market: the optimal results prefigured for the second edition of ExpoBici are showing we are right" – states Paolo Coin, General Director of PadovaFiere.

And so the work continues for the realization of the 2nd edition of ExpoBici, with the inclusion of new sectors and the enlargement of spaces and themes initiated in the first edition.

The TRIATHLON AREA, the first exhibit devoted to triathletes, is taking shape: even in this sector the format that was successfully received during ExpoBici 2008 will be applied, giving visitors the opportunity to directly try the products on display in a test area reserved to the three disciplines.

The route for "Cycling to Venice" has been defined and sign-ups will soon be opened for participating in the first non-competitive ride from Padua to Venice. The okay has also been given to a vast co-marketing operation with nearly twenty "gran fondo" races to be held all over Italy starting in March and continuing through September: every participant at the partner races will receive an informative brochure with a reduced-price ticket for ExpoBici in the race packet. This sort of publicity, along with visibility in specialized press magazines, will bring quality consumers and contacts to the Padua exhibition centre.
