Prysmian Announces Major New Operator Deals In Vietnam

Prysmian Cables & Systems, one of the world's players in the cable industry, has announced major contract wins in both Indonesia and Vietnam ahead of it's plans to exhibit at CommunicAsia 2009 - Asia's leading communications and IT exhibition and conference, taking place in Singapore from June 16th – 19th.

Prysmian, which will showcase its latest range of Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) technologies at CommunicAsia2009, is set to undertake a pilot project for PT. BIT Technology Nusantara, installing analog digital converter equipment at the BTS Hotel in Jakarta.

The initial phase of the project will see 280km of average 144F Duct cable, manufactured at Prysmian's factory Indonesia, installed in Jakata, with further implementation scheduled for the Surabaya and Medan areas.

A second contract win in Asia will see Prysmian provide FTTH solutions for a major telecommunications corporation in Vietnam.

The $8.6m deal for 9,800km of ADSS 12f, 24f G.652D and G.652+G.655 products is to be rolled out across north, central and south Vietnam during 2009.
