West Coast Energy Management Congress 2009

As the United States' economy re-tools itself for an area of dramatic growth in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors, professionals currently working in or who would like to advance their career in the energy profession will need up-to-speed information on technologies and sector trends.

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and host Southern California Edison (SCE) will be presenting one of the largest energy efficiency and cleantech networking events on the west coast. Held June 10-11, 2009 at the Long Beach Convention Center, the West Coast Energy Management Congress (EMC) will have a gathering of the industry's top professionals to help attendees learn about opportunities which exist in the energy management arena.

Renowned energy activist Ed Begley, Jr. has recently been added to the keynote opening conference session. Mr. Begley, who will be speaking on Live Simply So That Others Can Simply Live, joins the esteemed opening session speakers which include: Ralph Cavanagh, Senior Attorney and Co-Director, Energy Program, Natural Resources Defense Council, Energy Independence: Mandate and Opportunities, and Alan J. Fohrer, Chairman and CEO, Southern California Edison, The Future of Smart Energy.

Now in its 27th year, the annual West Coast Energy Management Congress (EMC) brings together end users from the commercial, institutional & industrial sector, energy managers, VPs of operations, facility managers, business leaders, government energy & facility managers and sustainable professionals to offer them solutions to their energy efficiency and green facility technology challenges. Other EMC highlights include: U.S. DOE's Save Energy Now Awards, Council on Women in Energy & Environmental Leadership Breakfast, tours of green facilities and technologies, free green workshops in the exhibit hall, as well as a display of the fuel efficient Zapino electric vehicles.
