Fenestration China-09:New Logo, New Management, New Fairground

Fenestration China, the exhibition for window and curtain wall manufacturing in China and Asia, will be held this year at a new location: from 27–29 November 2009, the International Exhibition on Windows, Doors, Skylights and Curtain Wall Technology, Components and Prefabricated Units, will be hosted at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center in Beijing. The China Construction Metal Structure Association (CCMSA) renewed its support for the show, which will be run by the same management team but under a new management company: international trade fair experts UnionExpo and NürnbergMesse Group. To mark these changes, the trade fair is presented with a distinctive new logo.

As last year the event is supported by a large number of well-known institutions and organizations of the windows and curtain walls industry, including the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction of the P.R. China and the German Association of Window and Curtain Wall Manufacturers. German exhibitors will once again have the opportunity to join the "German Pavilion" which is sponsored by the country's Federal Ministry of Economics. Fenestration China is part of the Global Fair Alliance of the four major trade exhibitions in the sector.

In contrast to industrialised nations around the world, China is bearing up well during the worldwide economic crisis. While its gross domestic product in the first quarter of 2009 failed to reach the targeted growth of 9 per cent, it still rose by 6.1 per cent – a preliminary figure that may have to be revised to an even higher one. Turnover in the retail business increased by 15 per cent during the same period and industrial production rose by more than 8 per cent, while investments saw a healthy increase of 28.6 per cent. Now and in the future China is set to benefit from investments in large infrastructure projects – caused in part by the increasing adaptation to European standards and a growing demand of housing. This development offers high potential not only to the local industry but also to foreign players. Fenestration China 2009 is an ideal business platform for manufacturers of windows and curtain walls, glass products, hardware, doors, fixing equipment and machines, installations and tools for working glass, wood or plastics.

Six months before the start of Fenestration China the management has already sold more than 80 per cent of the planned exhibition space, which, at 25.000 sqm, is the largest exhibition of its kind in China. Around 25, 000 trade visits from 20 nations are expected to view some 110, 000 products. The visitors will also benefit from the most up-to-date trade information on services, associations, research and development in the window and facade construction industry.

"German Pavilion" to showcase the nation's leading technology
Apart from Chinese businesses, exhibitors include well-known companies from North America and Europe. German companies will have the opportunity to participate in the "German Pavilion" which is again sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics. "Choosing and entering new markets is never easy", Willy Viethen of NürnbergMesse Group said. "And China can be particularly difficult and time-consuming for German companies to approach. Participation in the "German Pavilion" offers many advantages – particularly to those who are just starting out in the Chinese market. It will allow them to be part of the leading trade show in China, even on a smaller budget, while benefitting from additional organisational assistance. It is a great way to get a very detailed first impression of the market."

Support by the windows and wall curtains industry
China's No. 1 fenestration trade show receives broad support from international institutions and organizations, including Eurowindoor, the umbrella organization of the four European associations of the fenestration and door sector. "We wish to reaffirm our longstanding cooperation and exclusive support in China of the CCMSA's Fenestration China, " board member Franz Hauk affirmed.

Equal confidence in CCMSA's restructuring of the show management is shown by the impressive list of supporters, among them the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction of the P.R. China, the German Association of Window and Curtain Wall Manufacturers (VFF), the Russian Energy Efficient Window Manufacturers Association (APROK), the National Glass Association (NGA), the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) and the International Window Firm Association (IWFA).

Fenestration China is part of the Global Fair Alliance – a cooperation of the four leading international trade shows in the sector, which also include fensterbau/frontale in Nürnberg, Germany, Istanbul Window in Turkey and GlassBuild America. The aim of the alliance is to coordinate the date of their shows and to work jointly on core issues of the sector.

Fenestration Days China
Energy efficiency, building resistance to earthquakes, architectural glass and intelligent curtains are the main issues to be discussed at the conference "Fenestration Days China" which is run alongside the exhibition.
