Across the world the food service and catering market is growing

Anuga food service: products and concepts for the catering sector. Around 6,000 food and beverage suppliers guarantee an extensive range of products for the food service and catering market. No other food fair in the world offers the same broad range of products as Anuga, which will take place from 10th to 14th October 2009 for the 30th time in Cologne. Around 6,000 suppliers are expected to attend. Almost half of these suppliers offer products for the catering sector, including frozen food, organic products, beverages, meat and sausage products, spices, general provisions, chilled food and dairy products.

The clear grouping of Anuga into ten specialised trade fairs enables visitors to easily find the product segments they're looking for. With the help of the Anuga database the product ranges can be sorted with a focus on "Food service" - and this for each individual specialised trade fair. Trade-specific information on these topics will be provided by Anuga's supporting programme, which will include special shows like the "Catering Marketplace", "Visions of Cooking" and "Creative Kitchen", as well as the renowned 19th Forum for System Catering and the new discussions and presentation platform - the "Drinks Trend Forum". The "Food Service Guide" is convenient to use and includes all available information about the fair.

With its combination a of wide-ranging and internationally oriented range of products provided by exhibitors and suppliers, as well as the informative and trade-specific supporting programme, Anuga is a unique contact exchange and order platform for buyers from the food service and catering market.

To provide a new platform for the trendy topic of drinks, which plays an important role in the catering sector, Koelnmesse will for the first time stage the "Drinks Trend Forum" at Anuga 2009. Providing a combination of a congress programme and an exhibition, the "Drinks Trend Forum" will present the most important trends in the beverage industry. The platform offers exhibitors interesting models for participation and presentation. This will also once again be the setting of the "Anuga Wine Special", which was a highlight of Anuga Drinks in 2007.

This is where vintners and wine importers can participate in the exclusive tasting counter, where they have the chance to impress not only the World Champion Sommelier Markus Del Monego and his jury of experts with the taste and character of their wines but also, more importantly, the trade visitors. The "Drinks Trend Forum" also includes "Spirits & More", "The International Taste of Beer" and "Non-alcoholic beverages". Here, companies from the drinks sector that are exhibiting at Anuga will also have the opportunity to participate in individual ways in this attractive presentation area and/or in the supporting programme.

The second new feature at Anuga will be the first-ever special show "Creative Kitchen", a cooking show that attractively integrates the products of the food service/catering industry into its presentations and enables the selected audience to acquire practice-oriented information on the spot.

The "Catering Marketplace", a tradition at Anuga, will once again offer a meeting place for German caterers from companies of all sizes in a pleasant atmosphere. Here they can make sector-specific contacts and have the opportunity to share ideas. The organisers are Koelnmesse GmbH in cooperation with the Berlin-based German Hotel and Restaurant Association and DEHOGA Gastgewerbe NRW.

"Visions of Cooking" will round off Anuga's information package for those who work in or are interested in the food service and catering industry. In an attractive exhibition area, this special show will present new technologies for the food service and catering market and provide the decision-makers and users from the restaurant, hotel and institutional/communal catering sectors with solutions and application suggestions, which can optimise the processes in large-scale kitchens and catering establishments.

One of the highlights of the supporting programme will be the 19th Forum for System Catering, which invites managers from the hotel and restaurant trade and the catering sector's supplier industry to take part in an exchange of knowledge. The forum's organiser is the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA).

Information, products and innovations related to the food service and catering market, a growth driver, will mainly be provided by Anuga CateringTec, the trade fair for technology for the food service and catering market that will be held as part of Anuga. As was the case two years ago, Anuga CateringTec will offer an attractive range of products for trade visitors from the catering and system catering sectors, the hotel trade, institutional/communal catering, food service and new channels.

The signs for the coming Anuga are good. Leading companies from Germany and abroad have already registered for all ten specialized trade fairs. From July, a list of exhibitors that is updated daily will be available on the Anuga website at www.anuga.de
