Animalia Istanbul 2009

Organised by HKF TRADE FAIRS, ANIMALIA ISTANBUL 2009, the International Stock-Breeding and Allied Technologies Trade Fair, will run from 25-27th June 2009 in Hall 3 of the Istanbul Fair Center. Visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to visit VIV TURKEY 2009, the International Poultry Technologies Trade Fair, concurrently held in Hall 1.

ANIMALIA ISTANBUL 2009 is not only the Turkish cattle and dairy industry's foremost trade fair where visitors come to see the latest developments in products and techniques but it is also the place where the most pressing concerns of the industry are debated and discussed with panels, debates and presentations keeping producers informed and in touch.

In Turkey the dairy sector has a 16% share of the food industry with it also accounting for 8.5% of agricultural production. Turkey has an annual production of 13.5 million tonnes of milk, which places it amongst the world's top 15 producers. For this reason the most important companies in the dairy and meat sectors will be participating.

As in many other countries Turkish milk producers and the dairy industry in general have faced a number of serious issues. However, the latest data concerning the economy shows that it has shrunk by 6.2% while agriculture, despite the global economic crisis, has managed to grow by 4.5 %. This once again emphasises the importance of the industry and how it can play a role as a locomotive to pull the economy out of recession.

Despite all the problems of the current economic downturn and its effects on the industry, sales of stand space have been brisk proving that it is not just that ANIMALIA ISTANBUL is the industry's only fair but that it is an essential component in good times and bad.

Ever since its first year, ANIMALIA ISTANBUL, continues to attract a growing number of participants, both from home and abroad.

ANIMALIA ISTANBUL 2009, the most important cattle and dairy fair in the region, will bring together the industry's professionals from Turkey and overseas, to broker deals and forge links thereby opening up new markets and business possibilities. The most influential players in the local industry will be attending in order to follow the latest advances in technology, equipment and techniques.
