The Gastech 2009 Exhibition – A True One-Stop Shop!

In seven weeks Gastech 2009 in Abu Dhabi will open its doors to thousands of the world's leading gas organisations and players. A major exhibition, highly topical and compelling conference, together with incomparable networking opportunities confirm Gastech 2009 as the largest international conference and exhibition for the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries being held anywhere in the world this year.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the vibrant exhibition, which provides a true one-stop shop for the latest technology, innovations, products and services that are so vital in the delivery of the global demand for gas.

This year's exhibition is also the largest in the show's 37-year history and has attracted hundreds of exhibitors from almost 40 countries to the state-of-the-art Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, where Gastech is being held 25-28 May, hosted by ADNOC & Group of Companies. It is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

New Products and Services showcase
"With some 300 exhibiting companies, there are certainly plenty of reasons for gas professionals to attend. Our visitors will see new products and services, and developments to well known and well used technology throughout the 30,000sqm hall, and be able to compare suppliers and find the right business solution for their company, " explains Event Director, Tony Stephenson of dmg world media (uk) ltd.

"There is quite literally an A-Z of products and services to attract the thoughtful visitor who will meet exhibitors eager to initiate the first steps in a relationship that may lead to significant commercial advantages. The growing online preview at www.gastech.co.uk brings together news from exhibitors about what they are launching and featuring on their stands and highlights the diversity of exhibits. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge; online registration is now open at www.gastech.co.uk.

Meeting IOCs and NOCs
"The exhibition also provides a valuable opportunity for visitors to meet representations of International Oil Companies (IOCs) and National Oil Companies (NOCs) on their stands, " adds Tony Stephenson. "This enables them to hear at first hand about the latest projects and the challenges and opportunities that face the IOCs and NOCs, and those involved in their supply chain."

"At the last Gastech we enjoyed discussing the concept of IOCs versus NOCs – in terms of how future gas assets are developed and monetized, " explains Gastech's Conference Co-Chair, Paul Young, Chief Marketing Officer Exmar NV. "But the world has changed - are we now heading back to financially strong IOCs being again welcomed back as partners for the NOCs? Will future gas projects also need the support of a fixed buyer or offtaker to facilitate the financing of the ventures? Walking the halls of the Gastech Exhibition will provide some of these answers."

Business Presentation Theatre
The Business Presentation Theatre offers exhibition visitors the opportunity to listen to short business presentations covering a range of topical and highly relevant issues. Over 40 will be given over the four days. The programme for the presentations, which will be held in Hall 6 adjacent to the Coffee Area, is now available on the Gastech website in the Event Features section.

Digital Energy Zone
The Digital Energy Zone, an ADGAS-sponsored introduction for 2009, combines exhibits relating to technology, applications, solutions and services with regular presentations in a purpose-built seminar theatre by companies including ATP - Associated Technology Pipeline; Cad Cam Cim; Contech Process Innovative Learning Technology; Datac; PiMSlider and Gasunie Engineering & Technology.

LNG Timeline – your help needed!
The Gastech LNG Gallery attracted considerable interest at Gastech 2008. The timeline, which has been updated and will be displayed at Gastech 2009, depicts the key LNG milestones and will be augmented by photographs, press clippings, videos and hardware. "It's an area on which we need maximum feedback and input, " says Tony Stephenson.

"Can we invite you to look at the existing timeline on the Gastech website and tell us of other key dates in the industry? What, for example, have been the big achievements within your own company? How has your company helped influence the development of this industry? There's a form on which you can make your submission. We want to ensure this is an evolving record of what has happened and is happening in our rapidly developing industry, " he adds.
