Ifema Presents Simo Network, Its New Product For The ICT Sector

In line with its commitment to provide the technology sector with a platform for doing business and sharing knowledge adapted to company interests, IFEMA is staging a new trade fair project in the form of the SIMO Network, the International ICT Services and Solutions Trade Fair.

SIMO Network is completely innovative trade fair model designed to meet the needs of the industry. It is exclusively for professionals and offers flexible participation with a number of alternatives for taking part in this event according to companies needs.

The calendar for this three-day event at the FERIA DE MADRID has been moved to 22 to 24 September (from Tuesday to Thursday). The idea is for this new trade fair project to serve as a forum where professionals can get a first-hand look at the technology on offer, as well their potential and advantages for business growth. This business-to-business trade fair will present ICT services and solutions for companies from all sectors of the economy, and is aimed at both large corporations and SMEs that will receive particular emphasis, given their importance to the Spanish business world.

It is because of this that SIMO Network's primary objectives include acting as a "spokesperson" for technology and to present IT and communications technology as business tools to be harnessed to create change and competition.

SIMO Network therefore wants to provide a means for spreading the news about trends and to drive the use of state-of-the-art technologies. The visitors that SIMO Network wants to attract are the trade professionals who actually use these technologies, including not only IT and communications specialists, but also key figures in business management, Government technicians and high-ranking officials, distribution channel experts as well as specialists from universities and research and development centres, among others.

The project is supported by the sector's leading companies and institutions and is sponsored by AETIC

SIMO Network is receiving a great deal of support from the ICT sector's leading companies with this new format it has chosen to use with IFEMA. The project has a total of eight committed partners who will be involved with the trade fair through the preparation stages until the actual event where their image and presence will be felt in all three areas. These companies are: EVERIS, HP, MICROSOFT, ORACLE, SAP, SAGE, TELEFONICA and VODAFONE

SIMO Network is also supported by publishers IDG as media partners and promotional activities by AETIC (the Spanish Electronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications Industries Association). Also involved is the State Secretariat of Telecommunications and for the Information Society, through red.es. There will also be a large organising committee that will include all the important sector entities lending their support to the trade fair.

Four ways to participate

SIMO Network offers ICT companies a great deal of flexibility when it comes to participating, adapting to their specific requirements to help them get the most out of their time at the trade fair. To achieve this, four models have been designed to accommodate exhibitors' needs and their involvement in the various activities, product presentations and the corporate events they organise.

There are two options available in the exhibition section: either a free-style stand which can focus on the corporate image, with a larger amount of available space or a "turnkey", modular stand supplied by IFEMA with the exclusive SIMO Network design.

The conference programme is open to companies participating in the trade fair as well as those who those who are not. A fourth option gives companies in the sector the use of a fully-equipped meeting room in the exhibition hall itself, where they can organise corporate events in the setting of the SIMO Network.

The new SIMO Network structure. The SIMCO Network is structured to revolve around three main areas, which include an Exhibition Zone with stands and halls, a Conference Programme and a Virtual area.

The exhibition area will feature the following content: Infrastructures and Systems, Business Tools and Solutions, Telecommunications and Internet, and other Sector bodies. As well as the halls' own stands, the upper part of this area will also have rooms available for companies wishing to organise corporate events.

Conferences
El Instituto de Empresa (IE) will coordinate the Conference Programme which will be one of the most outstanding elements of the SIMO Network. A place to analyse, debate and make contacts, with first rate Spanish and international speakers, covering a wide variety of themes relevant to the current situation in the sector, suitable for different types of audience. Plenary sessions, workshops, product presentations, services, solutions and success stories brought together for an ambitious event designed to transmit innovation and knowledge.
