The International Beauty Show New York

The International Beauty Show New York, presented by American Salon magazine, and wholly owned by Questex Media Group, was a resounding success and drew more than 50,000 passionate and energetic participants looking to advance their skills, see the latest and greatest in beauty and mingle with some of the top talent in the industry. The International Beauty Show New York will be held April 26-29 at the Jacob Javits Conventions Center, once again, proved that the beauty industry is vibrant and strong.

Energy Abounds
"We are thrilled with the turnout, energy and overall vibe experienced at IBS New York this year, " says Dana Lupton, group show director. "Our strong attendance led to record sales for the exhibitors with many, such as Moroccan Oil, New York Streets and Young Nails increasing their space for the 2009 Show. "IBS is Back!" said Sassoon's Stephen Moody on stage at Future Vision, the opening night gala event hosted by Wella, Graham Webb and Sebastian. This sentiment speaks volumes about the quality of the exhibits, the record attendance and the overall energy that abounded at IBS New York.

The Exhibits
"I've never seen it so busy, " said both exhibitors and attendees. Beauty professionals came to the show in droves and spent their time and money on new products as well as old favorites. The P&G family was well represented on the show floor with large displays from Wella, Clairol, Sebastian and Graham Webb. Farouk, Hair U Wear, Alfa Parf, Scruples and FHI Heat also had significant presence on the show floor. Traffic frequently stopped in aisles where smaller exhibitors demonstrated their products and fulfilled a high level of sales. In all, 637 haircare, nailcare, cosmetics, tools, furniture, apparel and business technology manufacturers were represented.

Extensions are still all the rage and offer professionals an opportunity to increase business and generate thousands of dollars in incremental revenue. Also popular and crowd-generating were the moisture-enhancing hair follicle products, natural hair-straightening products and the detoxifying foot baths designed to restore balance, energy and overall wellness.
