Showtech 2009 On A Good Course

85 percent of the exhibition area booked and the first theme areas already sold out – this is the current balance for SHOWTECH 2009, on which the curtain will rise from 16 to 18 June. For many years, the International Trade Fair and Congress for Event Technology and Services has been the name for a top-quality range of technical equipment in the fields of stage, lighting, audio and media technology. 380 exhibitors are expected for the 14th edition of the fair in Berlin.

The halls at the foot of the Berlin Television Tower are steadily filling up, in some areas space is even getting short. Halls 1 and 2 with the focus on lighting and stage technology are already almost completely booked out. Demand for Halls 3 and 4 is also strong.

Strong demand for the Costume and Equipment Marketplace
The Costume and Equipment Marketplace in Hall 4 has again seen a spurt of growth and is now completely sold out. SHOWTECH is unique in all of Europe with this combination of the stage technology and decor segments: this is where manufacturers from the costume, equipment and make-up fields as well as suppliers and providers of a wide range of decor items for the stage present themselves.

EVENT3 – the forum for the event industry with a focus on safety
In 2009 rental companies of event technology, suppliers of event equipment and services and managers from agencies and companies will again meet under the EVENT3 brand. SHOWTECH presents to the event industry a comprehensive overview of products and services ranging from technical equipment to temporary buildings, from human resources and software to safety.At the three-day lecture forum, specialists will allow a backstage view of award-winning projects and present details of the technology, planning and creation of successful events. One of the topics in focus will be the subject of safety. At the lecture forum questions of fire protection, safe rigging, noise protection or personal protective equipment will be answered. Live demonstrations on the new safety action stage in Hall 3 round of the programme.

DTHG Congress programme
Event technology in the 21st century is the central focus of the congress of SHOWTECH institutional patron DTHG. The topics at the lecture and discussion events accompanying the fair deal with innovations in the field of lighting and set design, the changed conditions of production in theatre workshops and opportunities and limits of audio technology, among others.

A new item is the change in the museum scene which increasingly uses the means and methods of event technology with new exhibition concepts and special events

The impending changes in the use of radio frequencies for professional audio productions is another topic currently giving rise to concern among both manufacturers and users equally. The international association APWPT ("Association of Professional Wireless Production Technologies") will report extensively during the congress.
