Atyrau Will Be Hosting Oil and Gas Companies

For eight years running, Atyrau has traditionally been an exhibition and conference venue in early April. This year, on 7-9 April, the Atyrau Sport Complex will host two exhibitions: Atyrau Oil & Gas 2009 (on oil and gas) and AtyrauBuild 2009 (on construction). Simultaneously with these two events, the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel will be hosting a two-day conference, OilTech Kazakhstan 2009. All three events are organised by the Kazakhstan exhibition company Iteca and its international partners from the United Kingdom and Germany.

Exhibitors at the Atyrau Oil & Gas 2009 exhibition include such major concerns and companies as KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production JSC, Agip KCO, Tengizchevroil, KomekMachinery, BTS/CORD International, Denholm Zholdas, Khazar Transfo, HSBC Bank Kazakhstan, Borkit International, etc. The exhibition includes a conference on petroleum technologies, OilTech Kazakhstan 2009, to be held at the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel on 7-8 April.

It will be a platform to discuss innovations in the area of the latest technologies in exploration and production of oil and gas in Kazakhstan and joint generation of ideas. The conference participants include about 200 delegates. Key speakers include representatives of the Atyrau Oblast and Mangystau Oblast akimats, as well as CEOs of service companies and non-government organisations. Shell Kazakhstan is Lead Sponsor of Atyrau Oil & Gas 2009 and OilTech Kazakhstan 2009. Sponsors include Agip KCO, Tengizchevroil, GE Oil & Gas, HSBC Bank Kazakhstan, and Lloyds Register.

Within the past decade, Kazakhstan has doubled oil production. New hydrocarbon transportation routes to the world markets are being set up. Development of the oil and gas industry will have a lasting positive effect on the development rates for non-primary economic sectors of Kazakhstan. In this respect, the oil and gas exhibition and conference, held close to oil and gas production and processing facilities, cannot be exaggerated. According to Sauat Mynbayev, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, "Atyrau Oil & Gas brings together leading oil and gas companies from Kazakhstan and abroad, which demonstrates the effect of this event. The technological conference OilTech Kazakhstan, held during the exhibition, provides an opportunity to discuss current issues, help find solutions for pressing challenges, and further cooperation".

AtyrauBuild, a construction exhibition, will be taking place jointly with the oil and gas exhibition. Companies from Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan will present building and fixing materials, waterproofing, roofing and façade materials, gas-concrete blocks, wood boards, etc. In his welcome letter, Bergei Ryskaliyev, Atyrau Oblast Akim, said, "I hope that participation of major local and foreign construction companies in the exhibition will help bring advanced machinery and technologies to the construction market of Western Kazakhstan, find new forms of mutually effective collaboration and implement investment projects".
