Asia's No. 1 Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair

The highly recognized Chinaplas 2009 (The 23rd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries) will be staged at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China from May 18-21, 2009. The show will be held at the harvest time of China's stimulus plans. With no doubt, Chinaplas will be the focal point for the global plastics and rubber industries as the show will serve as an indicator of the industries' development trend and business opportunities available in the economic downturn. Chinaplas 2009 will set up for the first time 10 theme zones, occupying 140,000sqm exhibiting area, and will gather 1,900 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions, of which more than 200 are new comers.

Being the province producing the largest volume of plastic products in China, Guangdong is anticipated to reach 8.2 million tons in the total output of plastic products in 2008, representing about 22% of China's total output. Guangdong Province and Southern China are known as an important production base of plastic products, and also one of the key markets of Chinaplas' exhibitors.

At Chinaplas 2009 Press Conference held on March 4, Mr. Fu An, President of Guangdong Plastics Industry Association, expressed that the Chinese government promulgated numerous positive economic policies in the second half of 2008 to boost the domestic consumptions. In particular, the plan approved by the State Council to foster the light industry will bring in positive effects to the development of plastics industry in China. The gradual implementation of economic policy on various industries, such as, petrochemical, automotive, equipment manufacturing, textile, electronics, etc, will create vast business opportunities and new markets for plastics industry.

As Asia's No 1 plastics and rubber trade fair, Chinaplas 2009 has gained continuous support from international brands, namely ACS, BASF, DOW Chemical, Coperion, Engel, ExxonMobil, HOTSYS, KraussMaffei, Motan-Colortronic, Mold-Masters, SABIC, etc. Besides, the show also assembles well-known local suppliers to display high-end exhibits, such as Haitian, Dongfeng, Hengli, Fengming, Liansu, Fangli, Jwell, Jinhai, Cosmos and Zhouqiang Demark, etc. Keen participation of key players in the industry will guarantee the show's quality and fully address varying needs of visitors. With Chinaplas' ever increasing importance in the industry, it continues to receive support from new exhibitors. This year, the show attracted over 200 first-time exhibitors, including Fangbang, PTT POLYMER, Graco, Zhejiang Jianda Machinery, P&S Technology, Zhangjiagang Shimao, Sunslux Forstar, Zhejiang Tianfeng, Kaitai Plastics, Baihao Packing, Hongguang Machinery, etc. Their participation not only explained their optimistic views on future market trend, but also implied that more selections of exhibits will be available for over 70,000 buyers.

This year, the organizer will continue to host various concurrent events to enrich the show. On May 17, 2009, the day before show opening, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd will join force with China Plastics Processing Industry Association, China Plastics Machine Industry Association, Taipei World Trade Centre, Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry and Guangdong Plastics Industry Association, to organize the "Cross-strait Plastics Industry Summit". Quality speakers will be invited to discuss and analyze the trade development and investment opportunities and to share the experience on how to open up both markets. Another new event, namely "Connecting Hearts with Sichuan · Joining Hands on Reconstruction Projects", will feature Plastic Building Materials Pavilion which will showcase the extensive application of plastics in household and construction area, including plastic pipes, plastic plates, foaming materials, plastic profiles, plastic window/door and accessories, wooden plastic products, etc. It will provide a sourcing platform of plastic building materials for building and construction industries. To facilitate business discussion, the organizer will also set up an onsite business matching session to line up the local renowned enterprises from different user industries with exhibitors for face-to-face business meeting.

According to the organizer, visitors from over 100 countries and regions have pre-registered through ChinaplasOnline.com as of mid-February 2009, increased 60% compared to the same period of last year. Delegations from worldwide will attend the show, including groups from Australia, Germany, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Vietnam, etc, whereas various associations from user industries in Mainland China will also organize groups to the show, such as Plastic Products Committee of the China Packaging Federation, Guangzhou Architecture & Decoration Association, China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CCPIA) Agricultural Film Committee, China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CCPIA) Medical Plastics Committee, Plastics Additives Industry Committee, Shanxi Plastics Industry Association, Shantou Plastic Chamber of Commerce, Hunan Plastics Industry Association, Shenzhen Plastics & Rubber Association, Dongguan Plastics Industry Association, Shunde Home Appliances Chamber of Commerce, Shenzhen Electronic Chamber of Commerce, etc. Their active participation has demonstrated buyers' positive attitude towards the financial tsunami and their strong desire to capture business opportunities.
