Turkish Fruit And Vegetable Exporters In New Markets

Anfaş FreshAntalya, the only unique exhibition aiming at increasing the export volume by enabling fruit and vegetable exporters in Turkey to reach foreign markets, will be held once again this year at Antalya Expo Center on March 19-21, 2009.

Mustafa ÇALIK, Chairman of Anfaş Fuarcılık, has stated that Anfaş FreshAntalya Exhibition has played an active role in increasing the export volume of the sector as well as leading Turkish exporters to new markets. He has also mentioned that the fact that last year's participants have established commercial collaborations in new markets has lead them to work more intensively in this area in the exhibition of 2009.

After emphasizing the fact that Anfaş FreshAntalya Exhibition has become a widely known and expected exhibition amongst foreign vegetable and fruit markets is a pleasing development for Antalya and the sector, ÇALIK also stated that 2008 ANFAŞ FreshAntalya Exhibition has hosted 5850 professional visitors from 25 countries and 132 participant companies on an area of 9000 m2. ÇALIK intends to increase these numbers by a 30 percent in the Anfaş FreshAntalya 2009.

It has been stated that in the 2009 Anfaş FreshAntalya Exhibition, the main target countries are designated as Germany, Ukraine, Holland, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, France, Poland, Austria, Belarus and that Anfaş has started working together with German - Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Turkish - British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turkish - Swiss Chamber of Commerce, UAE - Turkish Business Council who have been advertising intensively to the targeted visitors of the exhibition. ÇALIK also emphasized that like the past years, the Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade and Antalya Exporter Unions will be giving their full support this year in reaching international visitors and promotion of the exhibition.

The "Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable Summit" is going ahead.
Mustafa ÇALIK has revealed that the "Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable Summit", an event which will be widely participated and will soon become a tradition, will be organized within the scope of ANFAŞ FreshAntalya Exhibition which appears widely in activities and publications on vegetable and fruits sector abroad. The summit during which problems and suggestions of all parties involved in fruit and vegetable sector will be discussed is going to be held at the Anfaş FreshAntalya Exhibition.

The standard procedures for domestic wholesales and export to foreign countries for the fruit and vegetables sector as well as foreign policies will be the main points of discussion at the summit that will be organized with the support of Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture of Antalya, Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Exporter Unions, Antalya Branch of the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, Perder (Turkish Retailers Association), Serabir (Turkish Greenhouse Manufacturers & Growers Association), ECAS (Certification Body for the Agricultural Sector) and the coordination of Anfaş during Turkey's unique fruit and vegetable exhibition. The overseas operations of the summit will be carried out by "Eurofruit", a fruit and vegetable magazine for the European market.

The main subjects of the "Mediterranean Fruit And Vegetable Summit" are designated as;
- Good Agricultural Practices and their traceability in the improvement of Export
- Agricultural Policies of the European Union, Export to the Russian Federation.
Çalık also stated that domestic and foreign Supermarket purchasing departments are the primarily targeted visitors of the Anfaş FreshAntalya Exhibition and that in the exhibition to be held in 2009 the participants will get a chance to meet with executive officers of supermarket chains to form new business contacts. Anfaş has started a comprehensive operation along with PERDER (Turkish Retailers Association) which embodies Wholesale Food Retailers and Chain Store Associations.

Çalık has said that with ongoing intensive multifaceted promotions along with advertisements in more than 15 foreign sectoral publications, the "Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable Summit" will also be drawing professionals especially from foreign markets to the exhibition.

ANFAŞ FreshAntalya Exhibition is getting full support of its sector through the advisory committee made up of the Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade, all Fruit and Vegetable Exporter Unions in Turkey, Office of the Secretary General for Antalya Exporter Union, Ministry of Agriculture, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Agriculture, Commodity Exchange, Chamber of Agricultural Engineers, all Turkish Producers' Unions, Turkish Vegetable and Fruit Wholesalers Federation and Antalya Central County Greenhouse Vegetable Producer Union.
