Northprint Aims To Help Companies Weather Tough Economic Climate

IIR, the organisers of Northprint 09 (21-23rd April, Harrogate Exhibition Centre), has responded to the current challenging times in the print industry by ensuring that the show will be packed with technologies and advice to give visitors practical guidance and support.

The Northprint 'Building Value in Print' initiative this year will see suppliers demonstrating first hand how print firms can create and produce value-added products that boost business. Visitors will see how personalised calendars, photo/fine art, albums, cards, and creative marketing material can be incorporated easily into a company's portfolio of services. These are popular products that are hugely successful and finding a ready market today.

A full schedule of expert seminars will provide update and guidance on topics such as: Adding value through innovation and The business opportunities of web to print; while companies who have introduced innovative online print services talk about their route to success. The BPIF is partnering with Print Yorkshire to give advice on a range of management issues such as Finance: Are you doing enough?; How your company can be lean and cost keen; Carbon Footprint; and Funding for Training.

"Not only will we showcase the latest equipment, but we will demonstrate smart techniques to help companies grow their business and, through a series of free seminars, experts will give practical advice on important issues, " says Gordon Kirk, Event Director.

Northprint attracts printers from all over the country to Harrogate to evaluate new print production and management technologies, discover added value print ideas, obtain practical business advice and techniques, and of course network. Aimed at a wide spectrum of printers, the show will feature the latest MIS, web to print, workflow, printing and finishing systems for commercial, packaging and large format applications. Responding to industry interest in digital presses, key suppliers including Apex, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Presstek will be demonstrating the power of digital printing.

"Northprint will focus on showing visitors how they can compete effectively by offering creative and quality products and services backed by streamlined production and management techniques, " adds Gordon. "We aim to be the best place to update your technology and business knowledge, and competitiveness."
