Fitur’09 Awards For The Best Active Tourism Product

The 14th Edition of the Best Active Tourism Product Competition was held during FITUR'09. These awards are organised by FITUR ACTIVO in collaboration with the Aire Libre magazine.

The judging panel, which consisted of Aire Libre readers, FITUR'09 visitors and exhibitors, the Media and other tourism professionals, selected the Cave Art on the Cantabrian Coast proposal as the Overall Winner. This product offers a tour of the many caves in Cantabria which have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The winners of each category were as follows: in the Adventure segment, The Duero Path in Zamora and the Almadén Mining Museum in the Culture segment. Fort tour, natural frontier, in Ceuta won the award for the Nature section and the King Crab Safari in Norway won the International category. A special mention was given to the following three programmes: Paradores Hotels 80th anniversary, The Transcantábrico and Activities to commemorate the bicentenary of the Sieges of Zaragoza.

The aim of the Best Active Tourism Product Competition is to promote the development and marketing of this industry as well as showcase the best quality tourism programmes.
