ASME Turbo Expo 2009

The workshops, providing instruction and hands-on training for technical professionals in the gas turbine field, will be held June 6-7 at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort. The workshops will cover physics-based internal air system modeling, gas turbine thermodynamics and performance modeling, gas turbine metallurgy and repair technology, and film cooling and technology for gas turbines. Each of the workshops runs for two days.

ASME Turbo Expo – Gas Turbine Technical Congress and Exposition opens on June 8. Combining a technical program and exhibit, Turbo Expo 2009 will cover engine design, materials, cogeneration, alternative fuels, combustion diagnostics, and micro-turbines, among other topics.

The ASME International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) is organizer and manager of Turbo Expo. Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., IGTI supports the exchange of information focused on improving the design, manufacture, operation and maintenance, and environmental impact of gas turbines, turbo-machinery, and related equipment.

Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences.
