Four Events At The Same Time And Place

Messe Frankfurt is opening the 2009 round of consumer-goods fairs with greater variety than ever before. From 30 January to 3 February 2009, Frankfurt is the meeting place and new-products showcase for no less than four sectors. Now, in addition to the international paper, office supplies and stationery sector, the festive decoration and beauty sector and the beauty and cosmetic sector, the hair-cosmetics industry is also represented at this event early in the year. With a total of 3,451 exhibitors, Paperworld, Christmasworld, Beautyworld and Hair and Beauty 2009 occupy over 132, 000 square metres (net) of exhibition space or almost all of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.

Despite all the current economic uncertainties, the sectors are con-centrating their entire might in Frankfurt at the beginning of the year. "Our exhibitors do not surrender to a seemingly inevitable fate but seek ways to achieve a positive and successful business future. We are delighted that so many want to take advantage of the opportunities open to them – and that they are doing so in Frankfurt", said Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt, at the Business Press Conference on 27 January. He added that Messe Frankfurt is a reliable partner, especially in times of economic crisis. Moreover, fairs and exhibitions always include the positive message that all participants are determined to resist the prophets of doom and pessimists with all their strength.

This year's Paperworld and Beautyworld are distinguished by a new sequence of days and will run for four instead of five days. Christmasworld visitors also benefit from a new sequence of days, from Friday to Tuesday. The new sequence of days has been introduced to meet exhibitors' wishes and needs, and to ensure optimum ordering conditions for the national and international wholesale and retail trades. Once again, this year's Paperworld (31 January to 3 February) – leading international trade fair for paper, office supplies and stationery – brings together important market leaders and brand names from the entire sector to confirm its status as the foremost international order venue.

Christmasworld (30 January to 3 February), the leading international trade fair for festive decorations is the platform for all festivals of the year. Beautyworld (31 January to 3 Febru-ary) is the initial meeting place of the year for the cosmetic and beauty sector. For the first time, Hair and Beauty will open its doors parallel to these three fairs – on Sunday, 1 February, and on Monday, 2 February. Holding Hair and Beauty parallel to Paperworld, Christmasworld and Beautyworld at this early stage in the year means the hairdressing show is now embedded for the first time in an international trade-fair setting and will hold the leading place in the national and international calendars of hairdressing fairs.
