Media Content World Summit

Technology events company, Technosummits, has announced that former Creative Chief of Endemol will be interviewed live on stage by Channel 4 News presenter, Jon Snow, at the 2nd Annual Media Content World Summit taking place in February.

Peter Bazalgette, also known as the 'Media Guru' who previously worked for Endelmol - the creators of popular television shows such as Big Brother and Deal or No Deal – will perform a live interview titled 'Straight Talking' with Jon Snow at the summit which takes place on 26 February, 2009, at the Courthouse Hotel Kempinksi, London.

The Straight Talking interview will highlight issues on commercialising digital media and how stakeholders in the industry can maximise broadband deployment to its advantage in the wake of the economic crunch and downturn.

Commenting on the issue, Bazalgette said, "The good news is that, compared to traditional media, the digital sector is still growing, albeit more slowly. This is still a time of opportunity for people with the right ideas. But radical new approaches to the likes of advertising and intellectual property are needed for the sector to prosper."

Joseph de Villiers, managing director of Technosummits, said "I am very pleased with our speaker's line up for the February event and the Bazalgette should prove to be an interesting one.

"The economic downturn will certainly affect everybody including broadcast and media companies, but it is imperative to provide a discussion platform in finding ways to monetise digital media and perhaps save companies from the monetisation malaise. This event will attempt to find some answers and perhaps provide a sounding board for all the participants to interact and get involved with."

The overall focus of the 2nd Annual Media Content World Summit is on "commercialising digital media" and line-up of speakers on the morning panel moderated by Screendigest's Richard Broughton, include Myles Macbean of Walt Disney Internet Group, Alain-Gabriel Courtines of Intel Capital, Errol Barran of Channel 4, Stuart Collingwood of Slingmedia and Richard Gale of Playboy TV.

The afternoon Panel, moderated by Sharifah Amirah from Frost &Sullivan, will focus on Monetising the "E" on QoE delivery, including how social media affects broadband usage. The panel members include Alessandro Petazzi of Fastweb, and Ashley Mackenzie of Myvideorights.com

Rory Sutherland, vice-chair of Ogilvy Group UK, will be delivering the inspirational talk asking the question of how advertising people could have a much better life on far less money. The Conference is chaired by Sebastian Moeritz, President of MPEG Industry Forum and industry supporters include MPEG Industry Forum, OPA, BWA, ACT and IAB Europe.

Keynote Speakers include Rory Sutherland, Vice-chair of Ogilvy group UK, Ross Biggam, General Director of Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT),
