The Winners – Art Of Pensions 2008

Pendragon, publishers of Perspective, the leading electronic legal and regulatory information service, are delighted to announce the 2008 winners of its ever-popular Art of Pensions competition – the 6th year of the competion and the first with on-line voting.

The overall winner was marketing consultant, Eric Wilton, from consultancy, Adjunct, whose tongue-in-cheek entry favourably compared the responsibilities of fund managers with the woes of 2 ex-Premiership football managers The win is an apposite triumph for Wilton, who conceived of the Art of Pensions in 2003 while Joint MD at Pendragon with responsiblities for marketing.

The category winners in full were Overall Winner: Eric Wilton, Adjunct, Most Humorous: Sharon Liptrot - Scottish Public Pensions Agency, Most Original: Lana East - Fidelity Pensions, Most Thought-Provoking: Martin Bamford - Informed Choice, and Pendragon Commendation: Mark Abrams - Smith Group.

According to Pendragon Managing Director, Simon Freeman, the entries to this year's Art of Pensions reflect an always interesting commentary, sometimes gallows-humour, on topical themes such as the stark difference between public and private sector pensions; the closure of defined benefit schemes; and the dwindling value of pension pots.

Simon Freeman said: " Every year I contunue to be amazed by the creativity and humour displayed by my industry colleagues. We are honoured by their continuing support of Art of Pensions and this year we are particulalry delighted by the large numbers of votes made on line in addition to those made, as in the past, on our stand at the NAPF Annual Conference & Exhibition."
