Expo Reclam 2009 Has Started Allocating Spaces

282 companies have already reserved a stand at Expo Reclam 2009, which will be held in Madrid next 11-13 February. The first space allocation meetings have already taken place for this new edition of the sector's benchmark trade show on the Iberian Peninsula. Once again, the show will be held in the modern facilities at Ifema, Madrid's fairground, in a larger pavilion than the previous edition. In October, online registration for this annual event will be open to professional visitors from the advertising and promotional gift sector.

The first phase of the stand allocation process for Expo Reclam 2009 took place in early October, at a series of public meetings held in Madrid. These allowed half of the 282 participating firms to choose their space. The remaining companies will be able to select their location during the second phase of meetings, which will be held during the first week of November. The companies which have already confirmed their presence at the event will occupy a total net area of 11, 250 m2.

The International Advertising and Promotional Gift Show will be held 11-13 February in Pavilion 9 of Ifema - Institución Ferial de Madrid (located on the left side of the Ifema site, near the north entrance). On this occasion, despite being a single exhibition space, it is one of the fairground's biggest, with a larger area than that available in the two pavilions occupied by the previous edition of Expo Reclam. In addition, as there is just one space, it will be easier for visitors to locate the stands of all the exhibitor companies.

In order to allow professionals to register and receive their pass for Expo Reclam 2009, online registration will open to visitors in October. Until then, an editable PDF web form which can be submitted by mail or fax will be available for accreditation. Restricted access to the event is one of the aspects most highly valued by those who take part in this trade fair. This is a commitment which represents a great deal of effort on the part of the organisers, but which makes it possible to effectively protect the interests of the promotional gift channel, preventing end customer companies from attending.

With a great deal of drawing power, this trade show event has earned the prestige of being considered the essential benchmark for the sector on the Iberian Peninsula. As a result, the top suppliers offer only their latest catalogue of advertising and promotional gifts at Expo Reclam, giving priority to presenting all the new items they have brought to markets around the world in the preceding months to the promotional gift dealers in attendance. In addition, the dates of the event are ideal for allowing dealers to close deals for the summer season – as well as the rest of the year.

As at past editions, the professional gathering will once again enjoy the support of the sector's main associations: Fyvar (Spanish acronym for the Association of Advertising Item Manufacturers and Vendors) and Aimfap (Spanish acronym for the Association of Promotional Item Importers, Wholesalers and Manufacturers). The entire advertising and promotional gift industry is represented on the organising committee for Expo Reclam 2009. Committee members include Manuel Domínguez (Linitex Merchandising), Juan González (President of Aimfap), África Lorenzo (Antalis), Sara Ogando (PSL Europe), Teresa Reina (Caramelos y Chocolates Tesa), Manel Sánchez (President of Fyvar), Antonio Serrano (Lidertime Company), Ricardo Stricker (Paul Stricker), Francesc Tuset (Antalis), Manuel Vázquez (Manufacturas VG), Nicolás Yunta (Aralia Import Group) and Alberto Zaragoza (Trónica Internacional).

The show also receives support from the major specialist magazines, including Marcaje & Textil, Publicidad & Promoción, Regal Diffusyo and Regalo Plus, among others. The trade show operator organising this event – Reed Exhibitions Iberia – offers extensive experience in specialised trade shows for the advertising and promotional gift industry. As well as presenting Expo Reclam, this organiser leads the European market with the business platform of its PSI Düsseldorf and PSI Paris shows. At the national level, Reed Exhibitions Iberia is involved in running Promogift, the professional show organised by Ifema, taking charge of visitor management and administration.

The previous edition of Expo Reclam was held 13, 14 and 15 February 2008, its aisles once again filled for the event. It received 9, 218 visits by professionals from 3, 581 companies involved in the advertising and promotional gifts sector as dealers and middlemen. In total, the 313 companies – from 12 countries – present at the past edition occupied 13, 088 m2 of net exhibition space (25, 000 m2 gross). Spain stood out as the country of origin for most exhibitors (262, accounting for 83.71% of the total), while foreign companies numbered 51.
