EuroMold 2008: New Format „Business + Design Area“

With the innovative "Business + Design Area" this year's EuroMold, De-cember 3 – 6, 2008, supports the dialogue between designers and manu-facturers. The World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Appli-cation Development recognises the growing importance of the design sector, both in the economy and at the EuroMold itself.

The "Business + Design Area" provides an enterpriseforum and a Round-Table Discussion. The Matchmaking Lounge offers partici-pants the possibility to book meeting facilities for a limited period, where non-binding appointments can be made in a relaxed atmosphere, apart from exhibition stands.

At the enterpriseforum creatives and companies of all types can present their ideas and services on their own stand to the more than 60,000 visi-tors, and, at a reasonable price.

On the basis of Best-Practice-Examples EuroMold will demonstrate the success of well-designed products. Apart from that the DesignBusiness lecture series will cover the latest trends in design of communication, investment goods, and products. Representatives from politics, journal-ism and economy will take part at the Round-Table-Discussion on De-cember 3, 2008.

The new format "Business + Design Area" has been developed by the EuroMold in cooperation with Hessen Design. It has been adjusted to companies' special requirements. In a very creative surrounding in Hall 6.1 the "Business + Design Area" adjoins the theme areas Design, Engi-neering, and Materials. Downstairs, in Hall 6.0 EuroMold presents the special themes Virtual Reality, Engineering, and Simulation.

Design students can also exhibit and make valuable contacts on the cor-porate stand Design Talents for a fee of € 150. The EuroMold-Design Booklet informs about the variety in design presented at the EuroMold. This booklet can be ordered free of charge at EuroMold-organiser DE-MAT GmbH, under the heading "Design Booklet" (Address see below).

At EuroMold the importance of the design sector has increased over the years. 2007 more than 7 percent of all exhibitors came from this sector. Within the category of exhibitors, that take part at EuroMold 2008 for the first time, the share makes up even 9 percent. Visitors that work in the design sector, made up 12 percent of all EuroMold visitors in 2007, the 3rd biggest visitorgroup after moldmaking and tooling, and machine tools.
