Miami International Wine Fair

Miami International Wine Fair, one of America's largest wine exhibitions, is on track to achieve their highest level of sponsorship and consumer participation ever. Working together with new investment partner, Madrid-based Emporio Ferial S.A., Miami International Fair is expected to attract over 7,000 industry professionals and wine aficionados who will have the opportunity to taste nearly 1,500 wines from 15 countries while touring more than 60000 square feet of exhibit space.

"This is an unprecedented year for the Miami International Wine Fair, and one which firmly entrenches Florida as one of the most important wine markets in the world, " comments David Bernad, co-founder and General Manager of the event. "The rise in global applications from the wine trade is truly exciting and reflects the diversity of choices in our state. Together with Emporio Ferial S.A. we are helping to build the Miami International Wine Fair as a gateway for wineries to penetrate the U.S. market, and for regional and national wine buyers to discover new products."

Founded by entrepreneurs and wine enthusiasts David Bernad and Benito Besada in November of 2001, the Miami International Wine Fair grew by over 75% in 2007 in terms total square-footage sold. The 7th annual edition of the Miami International Wine Fair will be held October 25-27, 2008 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

America is the leading wine market in the world with over 300 million cases consumed last year, of which some 25 million were sold in Florida alone. In 2004 Florida surpassed New York to become the second largest wine market in the country after California. In fact, wine consumption in Florida increased by 79% from 1994 to 2005, the largest growth recorded by any state.
