Stone+tec 2009: Meeting Place For The European Sector

With around 1,000 exhibitors and over 40,000 trade visitors from all over the world, Stone+tec in Nuremberg is one of the outstanding meeting places for the natural stone sector. The International Trade Fair Natural Stone and Stoneprocessing Technology at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, held from 20th to 23rd May 2009, is now already in its 30th year. The structure data for the last event in 2007 clearly demonstrated the strength of Stone+tec and its central location in Europe: in addition to the visitors from Germany, the event attracted trade visitors mainly from the Benelux countries, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Poland, Switzerland, France, Ireland and Spain, but also from the Baltic States as well as Russia, the Ukraine and White Russia (Belarus).

A clear bonus here is the specialist quality, entrepreneurial competence and expertise of the trade visitors in Nuremberg: nine out of ten visitors were involved in their companies' purchasing and procurement decisions, while one third concluded sales deals during the fair. Particularly in times of worldwide financial and real-estate crises, the market in Central and Central Eastern Europe is showing high stability, in several countries such as Russia for example, even clear growth.

From the stone quarry to own home
Stone+tec traditionally covers the entire chain of natural stone processing, starting with the technologies for extracting the material through to a large number of natural stone varieties from all over the world up to specialist, skilled application in construction and design.

Since time immemorial impressive natural stone facades and floors in major construction projects have shown the diversity of the material, which due to its specific characteristics, is however also winning over an increasing number of fans in the home design and domestic applications market. Design-orientated bathrooms, kitchen worktops and items of furniture in a material mix are good examples of how natural stone lives up to high individual requirements.

In doing so, unlike hardly any other material, natural stone covers the whole spectrum ranging from solid and weighty applications up to filigree and playful requirements. Stone+tec offers not only a comprehensive exhibition range covering the diverse areas of application for natural stone, but in its supporting programme, also the necessary know-how for implementation as well as many ideas and inspiration.

A special feature of Stone+tec is also the comprehensive range covering gravestones and grave design. Here, on their stands and in special presentations, leading companies will show both classic as well as new forms of remembrance. As one of the oldest rites of mankind, erecting memorials to our forefathers has a special place among cultural services, but this process is however not free of changes in society. The exhibitors from the Stone+tec-Segment gravestones and accessories segment have everything required for the dignified, and at the same time, modern, contemporary design of graveyards.
